In dumbed down English, what's this mean. This sounds like a step down from a football player signing on to the practice squad where it's a very low probability he'll ever make a team.
Would it be better to go Europe route?

Yeah sounds like it is a step down from the G league. I don’t know.

If he plays his best consistently, he will get a shot. If he disappears on the court, he’ll be looking elsewhere! I’ll be rooting for his success! He’s got a big dream!

It more than practice squad
He should stick on the G-League team for the full season..probably will get a few games with the Pelicans too.
Similar contract that Donate Grantham started
Good for Chase!

So he really didn't sign with an nba team like Cooper Flagg or the sc kid. And Victor didn't get drafted either? Do both end up like donte on a turkey team or japan?
Just think the story and headline is a bit of a stretch sounding like he got drafted. Zachary was better anyway. Figured he might make a practice squad.
Oh well, thanks for the info. Hopefully in the near future, we'll have someone get drafted.

Over the last several decades, Clemson BB has sent numerous players overseas. We're talking about all the way back to Ellis. Lots of our guys have gone to the European leagues and they have done really well. This is Chases shot at making the NBA, but if he doesn't, it's not the end of the game for him. He'll be fine

Turkey/Isreal are leagues well below Europe.
Japan is bottom of the barrel. It is/was an industrial league where company employees work 20 hours and practice/play basketball 20 hours per week.
Chase and Lahkin are good enough to play in Europe which pays players in the hundreds of thousands to low millions per season with all sorts of perks like free housing and tax breaks.

It's a step forward if nothing else. It gives other teams a look as well.

Chase is one of my favorite Clemson athletes of all time. Love his game, his character, and his humility. Really hope he can crack the roster.
