Why wouldn’t they be? Who would you have ahead of them?

Duke deserves more respect

Michigan State is ranked #24. Duke is unranked but #34 if looking at others receiving votes.
Duke is 5-1 and beat Northwestern handily on the road. Michigan State is 4-2 and got thumped by Northwestern at home in addition to losing to 3-3 Arizona State.
Duke also handily beat Army who took #9 Oklahoma to overtime.
Duke's Strength of Record is #13 according to ESPN's FPI.
Michigan State's Strength of Record is #27 according to ESPN's FPI.
Football Outsiders S&P+ have Duke and MSU at #32 and #33 respectively.
Team Rankings have Duke at #21 and Michigan State at #25.
Bottom Line: Beating Penn State in State College ain't that big of a deal (see OSU at #2 and MSU at #24). App State took them to overtime.

If Duke were in the SEC they'd be in the top 15. Proof:

Pack the top 25 with SEC teams to boilster their SOS. Then when one drops out of the top 5 you can move the team that beat them up and praise them for beating a top ranked team. It's all bullchit, has been for 20 years and won't ever end.
That's why we have a playoff committee and why they don't publish a poll until week 8.

seems kinda silly to me #3 vs #16 isn’t in a prime time slot. ??????? Seems to me game day will either go to LSU or WSU then. Since those are both top 25 match ups. Both of those teams are on the outside looking in though.

Game Day is too embarrassed to come to Clemson after all the disrespect they've shown the Tigers. Plus they would have to find a sub for Desmond Howard. He doesn't want to be seen around here.

They might have a tough time with lodging and food.

We win and drop in the AP poll. We get a week off and go up in the AP poll. Dabo needs to get 2 more weeks off and we'll be #1.
