Reports like this continue to get me excited! I know it will take a bit of time to implement, but can we fast forward and spot the dang ball? Go Tigers!

My guess is Cade will pick this up very quickly, and he (and the offense) will thrive. This should be so fun to watch. I bet the defense looks even a lot better, too, with an offense that is super productive. JMO

AND the best thing about the Air raid offense, is that a team using it, they don't have to have the best O L in the country bc the plays get going pretty quick. And knowing that our O L has been getting better, this maybe our highest scoring season in a while. Go Tiger, hurry up and get the Fall season to going!!!

So would Duga, but it’ll be hard to do with all the bias from schools and conferences who have so many past winners who get a vote. I’ve lost a lot of respect for the trophy. Hope that changes!

I hear you on bias, and yeah, there's some, albeit there's VASTLY less for us (I imagine more former winners would vote for a Clemson guy again rather than leave them off entirelye for being a rival because we really don't have any rivals that have votes).
The biggest outlier is Heisman moments.
Maybe the USC game in Columbia can produce some? Maybe a rematch with FSU in the ACC title game will be enough?
The Heisman is often almost exclusively based on those two final games to end the season, but this time we might actually have a legitimate shot at some Heisman moments.
Make no mistake, when we get a Heisman, we will celebrate it, absolutely.

There is no doubt in any bodies mind that watched TL16 pick apart the best in Bama history team in 2018, that was one of the best Heisman performances ever in a NC game!!! But the Heisman voters didn't believe his undefeated season was worthy of their Heiman, but he was worthy of what the Heiman once meant many years ago!!!!!!

The award actually always goes out before the national title game, at least in the last 3 championship eras of the sport.
That's why having Heisman moments BEFORE the national title game is so important.
I hear you on that not being necessarily accurate or fair, but the point was only that this year we do finally maybe have some opportunities for those moments in those last two games.
They also voted plenty for Trevor, to be clear; being a finalist does matter, sincerely. I hear you on the conspiracy stuff, just saying it's OK to be excited about this year for those very opportunities, know what I mean?

I have no Respect for the Heisman trophy, especially the people who do the voting, they are the ones that has made that an award, and an award that means nothing to me anymore!!!
I would much rather Cade win the Davey O’Brien Award over the Heisman media favorite award!!!!!

I hear you. The Heisman, like the Davey O'Brien, is awarded before the national title game.
You will love the Heisman when we get one, though.
Promise.

Lets just keep Heisman out of it and focus on encouraging Cade to develop in the new system and be very productive which I believe he will!

How much do sponges salivate? I guess it's hard to tell since they're submerged at the bottom of the ocean. Regardless, this hire has the potential to be Dabo's absolute best since Brent Venables! It instantly renewed my faith in him to do the right thing for our program, and if it has me this excited, I can only imagine what the offensive players (and probably the D, ST, and other coaches too, except for Streeter of course) must be feeling! IMO, a better analogy might have been "salivating like a starving tiger let loose in a Columbia henhouse"! Our dudes gonna be hungry for some serious revenge this season! Unleash the Beast: Go Tigers!!

Obviously, he was saying salivating at the opportunity to play in this offense while at the same time absorbing as much information as quickly as possible!

We're going to the playoff. Buy tickets now.

Y'all, Clemson was literally a field goal away from the playoff this season.
The Tigers can improve on accident, but now instead there's a more experienced roster, an inescapable talent gap, a more favorable schedule, & a more deliberate & vastly more simple game plan on offense.
IF Clemson doesn't make the playoff in 2023, Riley is fired, but c'mon. I don't want to say nowhere to go but up, but I'm with Luginbill on this one; not winning the ACC & making the playoff this year would be the only real surprise.

You are correct. But had we beaten USuC then this change may not have happened. the fact that USuC did us a favor really eats at me and most fans but if this works out like most of us think then they can win a game every 8 years or so.

I would like the hype to stay under control. Klubnik appears to have a level head, but he has a lot to learn to get to where we need him to be. And we need Vizinna to get there, too, because of the risk of injury when you expose your QB a lot. Can Randall be that go to big man this year? What about one of the freshmen. I think Turner will have a great year with Williams, and we hope to see Beau Collins turn in a great year. The potential is there, but it has to come together. Let's hope Riley can be the chef that can bring it all together.

Lol. I'm totally with you that folks should pump the brakes and see how it develops, but then again we were 20 yards and a FG from making the playoffs, even with the handcuffed QB situation.
We will impove. I think we all agree there. Better QB + TBD system, albeit it looks awesome... Regardless of a desire to pump the brakes, there will be rampant expectations and optimism. While cautious optimism would be best until determined on the field, it's not going to be possible to temper it. Just wait until we win the spring game!

Can you really call it an air raid system? TCU was very good with their run game so it's not a typical air raid offense.

I'm glad that it's not pure Air-Raid, kinda like Leach's TTU
Jan 31, 2023, 4:06 AM
|
|
At TTU, Mike Leach's latter teams had good OLs and solid running games, which (when combined with the Air Raid principles) really kept D's off balance. At WAST, I don't think Leach was able to recruit that same caliber of run-blocking OL (or RBs), so I think there was more emphasis on the passing attack. Riley's O's at SMU and TCU were well balanced. I'd expect similar balance with Clemson's player-talent.

COME ON MAN' The offense cant do anything but get better, Cade has already shown his talents in only 2 games, now he knows he is the man to run this offense (he doesn't need to go on a pilgrimage every week looking for confidence) and under Garretts direction he will be much better. We're all wishing away 7 months of our old a$$ lives trying to fast forward to the 2023 season. I lost the last 2yrs of my life and Religion dealing with DJU. DABO please pray for my sanity to come back!! Oh yes and my Religion. Amen
