The CFP bracket if it were today

1. Texas 2. Ohio St 3. Miami 4. Utah
5. Uga vs 12. North Illinois 6. Bama vs 11. Penn St 7. One Miss vs 10. Oregon 8. Tenn vs 9 Mizzou
UGA is in a great spot. They just have to beat North Illinois and Utah to get to semi final round.
6 sec 3 big 10 1 acc 1 big 12 1 group of 5
That’s prob what I’d expect at season’s end. Preseason polls are the 2nd most important poll (2nd to the final poll) because it sets you up to remain highly ranked.

The #5 seed might be the most enviable spot. Hey to host against a weak 12 seed and play the weakest conference champ at a neutral site

If you are doing this as of today then Syracuse replaces Miami as the ACC representative. Miami doesn't have any conference games yet.

Well I was going by rankings for the conf champs right now

Obviously way too early but just interesting.
I do think the 5 spot is a sneaky good spot. That’s gonna probably be the 2nd or 3rd ranked team getting a home game against a scrub. Then they get the lowest ranked conf champ which could legit be a 9-4 team.

Why would UGA be so low?

Right now Texas would get the SEC bye slot.

So UGA would get the #1 at large spot, which is a 5 seed.

Top 4 spots go to conference champs. OP has Texas winning the SEC, so #5 is the highest that UGA could be seeded.

Maybe not, but will likely have five, and no less than four!!

It was all set up for the SEC to take complete advantage of the bias towards them from Espin and the CFP committee!

the goal was expansion to give them more teams. which is why espn and the sec colluded with ou and texas to get them into the sec to strengthen the conference for playoff expansion. its another reason why if we leave the acc id be fine with the big. espn is trash

There are no polls until around the 1st of November

The AP poll has never matched up with what the CFP puts out. It won’t look like that by then.

Using last year's final CFP poll, 5 current SEC teams would have been in the 12-team field.

I think they could lose a few games and be a lower seed by November. This would bump one of the lower tier SEC teams out and allow for 2 ACC.
