Tennis coaches search update

So Clemson is searching for a women's and a men's tennis head coach right now.

I was told that the women's search is further along and that the new coach would be named by the end of the week... but that was last week that I was told that.


For the men's search I was told "Clemson has brought in two candidates, both with long track records of success as a head coach. Clemson will need to commit over $300k a year for HC and assistant pool as both of them are making good money at their current schools".

Clemson is also apparently committed to having a fully funded second assistant coach, which is something that not very many other programs are doing as most require coaches to fundraise for the second assistant.

Last time there was a head coaching search for the men's team, the new hire was announced June 7. We are one week away from that this time around.

I thought they promoted the interim since she was decent.

Yeah, I guess they weren't real impressed with the interim. They actually had a couple nice upsets... but I'm glad they on both accounts that they are taking it seriously.

I will be more impressed with Neff if he indeed ponies up and commit the true resources. If you're not willing to do that, then stick with what we've had the last decade or so.

Anyway, I hope they get some good ones. The kids from Charleston need their collegiate sport too.
