So...ESPN's best basketball conference narrative...

proves to be wrong again.
Throughout the year, the network touted the Big XII, the Big 10, the Pac 12 and the $EC as the top conferences. Those four leagues accounted for nearly half of the teams (30) in the 64-team tournament field. The lowly ACC had just five.
As we approach the Elite 8, how many from each of those conference are still left standing?
Big 10 = 0
$EC = 0
Pac 12 = 0
Big XII = 2 (Kansas State and Texas)
ACC = 1 (Miami)
Here's a thought for ESPN. Why don't you take your narrative, set fire to it, and shove it up your arrogant little a$$.

Big10 really gets to me. The football as a whole is overrated every year and basketball was taken to a whole new level. Only thing Big10 has going for it is the conference brings in a lot of eyeballs.

...you either have amnesia, or you just started watching college basketball.
Based on the tournament results far, looks to me like there's not much separating the P5 leagues from the rest. Historically that hasn't been the case, especially with the ACC. For the last 40 years the ACC was either the #1, the 2cnd best conference on a pretty consistent basis. 3rd, 4th, or 5th best conferences usually weren't even close to the ACC. Not to mention, Mid-major teams would regularly get beat by 40 in the tourney, not anymore.
Comparatively speaking, 2022-2023 ACC basketball is a dumpster fire.

If there’s a “Power 5” and they promote 4 of them, something’s rotten in the state of networks

You really can't deduct anything from the media narrative or what you're trying to prove. The first time it's happened in the tournament history.
The one thing you can deduct through the years is the " net " formula proves to be a pretty good predictor of teams that win games. You know, that formula that Brad and Neff tried to convince everyone it was bogus... well it's not. Here are the Net matchups this weekend.
13 vs 24 (10 - 22) 6 vs 8 (14 - 19) 14 vs 17 (16 -12) 7 vs 35 (32 - 13)
So Miami is the only team not in the top 25.

Watching Arkansas, Tennessee and Bammer being sent home--priceless. E$pin coverage--hilarious.
