One of the worst losses in CU baseball history

We were never in this game. Seems like players are just happy to be there. And the coaching decisions, going back to the starting pitcher, have been mind boggling. A really sad reflection on the baseball program. No fire, no pride, didn’t even compete.

Exactly right - no energy or focus.***

Maybe they just aren't that good right now and had energy and focus.

interesting topic...

for me the worst moments were Kris Benson against Miami, and of course the back to back loses to the chickens in Omaha when we were up 2-0 in our bracket.

Honestly don’t think our program ever recovered from the dirt ###### debacle in Omaha. Baseball team has basically been nothing since.

This looks to have some merit! We have carried that bad energy for awhile , some way somehow this needs to be let go of, removed, 🙏 prayer's..... I'm a believer in good and bad vibes, angels, energy, spirits , spells, frequencies, whatever...things beyond our control... it needs to be broken , removed , crossed out, no doubt it's part of the game, step on a crack break your mommas back , you owe me a coke, deja vue , you know what I'm sayin....

What we have learned is there isn’t enough ACC caliber talent on our roster (pitching) to play 4 high caliber teams in 5 days. This problem will be repeated in a regional if the Tigers fall into the losers bracket.

Crazy to think, with one more ACC win we would be the #1 seed and we’d have a double bye. We wouldn’t have needed to see any of these game 4 pitchers (Dvorsky, Samol, Lee, Fitzgerald) if we had earned the double bye.

It'll take something monumental to top the 2 losses in Omaha to the coots. To make that worse they ended up winning the whole thing.

every time I see Jack Leggett. Today’s loss is no where near the Omaha collapse, but it’s bad. The lack of effort & program pride hurts.

We don’t have any pitching left and they just hit our mediocre arms and with our hitting we just hit something hard at nc all day or hit into another double play didn’t help we couldn’t score a run with bases juiced no outs but it’s just simply not our day don’t let today overshadow the outstanding weekend we had to get to this point and lock up a top 16 seed at least and give ourselves a chance at an 8 not likely now but not impossible!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Forget the pitching for a second. Our hitting SUCKS!!***

“A sad reflection of the program”

That’s an awfully big statement about a team that made the conference finals and is about to host a regional. Relax.

Is the first loser. I’m not satisfied with that. The lack of effort & pride today by the team is unacceptable to me. I’m not satisfied with just being there. If you are, so be it.

I didn’t say I’m satisfied just being there. But I’m also not going to freak out about the state of the program because we lost a baseball game.

You must be 20-something. Plenty of other embarrassing losses. Look at the whooping we took from Kennesaw St at home last year. Others have mentioned Omaha vs the Coots.

However, I submit this one…

38-16 against the coots. April 23, 1997. Sat in the stands at Sarge Frye to watch this embarrasment.

There are only 2 worst losses in Clemson baseball history, and they happened in Omaha against the same team. I'll just leave it at that.
