Three stick out in my mind ...
Jan 16, 2009, 2:43 PM
|
|
All three took place off the field:
The press conference in DV when Frank Howard had to tell Clemson "fans" how to behave.
The plane flying over DV with the "Fire Hatfield" banners that were a total embarassment to us all.
The rumor that our "fans" were actually running recruits off just to make it more likely that Hatfield would fail and be fired quicker.
Hatfield was not a good fit and he was not a good hire, but once he WAS hired, "fans" should have given him their full support for the duratiomn of his contract.
That, sadly did not come close to happening.

Hatfield was a pretty good coach
Jan 16, 2009, 2:49 PM

He had 2 SouthWest Conference titles, an ACC title, and even had 2 seven win seasons at Rice and an 8 win season there. Rice isn't an easy place to win at
Hatfield will always be Arkansas' just as Ford will always be Clemson's. Funny how those 2 traded places
