Brownell said that Radford offered Del Jones more money than he would have made if he came back to clemson. That is crazy to think about

He meant Clemson is not to going to pay that much for a guy that was a role player last year since they have to have fill a full roster of talented type high major guys.
Radford wanting to get a guy who was on a high major team can pay more for him because most of their guys aren't as good.
He will have a lot of pressure to produce for them.

I understand that, but i still wouldn't have thought a starter at radford would get paid more than a role player at clemson.

Probably because he instantly becomes their best player (potentially top 15 in the conference), whereas he was only going to be a 15-minute guy for us. He's a good improvisor and can score really well, I think he'll do well on their team, but the value for us wasn't the same. For all we know we could've offered $100k and they offered $110k, they don't have a football team, so basketball is the flagship sport where most of the money probably goes.
