My youngest turns 18 today. She will be heading off to Charleston Southern in August.
My son is married. So…

We will be empty nesters. Bittersweet

I figured out that as another chapter in life has been written then the page turns and another chapter begins.

Just another day on the journey my friend. Our kids are 35 and soon to be 30 so it’s been a while for us. I was actually surprised at how much I have enjoyed the empty nest and how well my wife adjusted to it. It was concerned how it would go for her because she was a stay at home mom. Wasn’t worried about how it would affect me because I was a workaholic and also the most adaptable person I know. It gets even better when you retire because you can do what you want when you want. Enjoy it - you’ve earned it. And before you know it they will be showing up with grandkids.
