question: Is our offense really "Back"? Or was App State really that bad?

Let alone 50… or even 40 against an FBS team?? Don’t care how bad App St is, our offense looked nothing it has in the past few years.

Very likely you said the same thing about Kentucky after the coots destroyed them at their place. Then KY had UGA on the ropes the following week so does that mean the coots are playoff bound?
For those who know football, we saw a confident Clemson offense force their will on App St early and often. When is the last time we saw that happen? This is not like playing an overmatched team where we go up big in the 2nd half when they were worn out.
Will we boat race every team on our schedule like we did App St? Obviously not but most seasoned fans expect a far better offense than we saw last year.

How did ECU lose to APP at home last week? What must they be thinking. It was a quick turnaround for App playing tonight after playing Saturday.

South Alabama played what amounts to a Division 2 school on a Thursday while App played ECU on a Saturday night, away. The Sun Belt should have never allowed this game to take place on a Thursday under those circumstances

I mean app state looked terrible tonight. But we played games against teams like Furman and look stagnant on offense. 1 half against CSU last year we looked terrible. Regardless the opponent the offense of output was the best we had in 3 seasons against app state. That is encouraging. Hard to get a gage on the offense. But I feel we at least score 28 against NC state which is improvement.

Until we get at least one more data point, I'm happy just to see a well executed, explosive offense...something we have not seen very much in recent years. Also...apparently, the play sheet was completely different. With what the Pack has going on right now, I'm not concerned about whether we win; I'm concerned that we win while only scoring like 20 points. Then we still have those questions about the offense.

It was the best first quarter and first half offensive performance in our history. And we’ve played teams a lot worse than App St. I think there are valid conclusions to be drawn from that game.

After four years were still trying to fix the offense. We never saw the endzone against Georgia. That's who we are and Georgia is human. Kentucky showed us that. The worst of the damage has been fired now but Reilly may not ultimately work out at OC. I see no evidence he's doing anything to make us better.

I don't think App St is trash at all. South Alabama has one heck of a freshman running back that I think will make headlines going forward. NIL offers may even have him transferring.

Not sure that is a valid question. Many Clemson teams have played far inferior competition through the years and we have NEVER....EVER put up a first half like they did against App St. How many did we hang on PC? Coastal? Give the guys their due.

AS' football team appears to face a long and nonproductive season however, it had nothing to do with our QB throwing accurately 100% of the time. Remember, the two incompletes were throw aways, not dropped balls or errors in passing by Cade.
Admit that and I'll admit that better coverage would have changed that stat but it proved Cade has what it takes to deliver the ball to our guys and our guys have the ability to lay hands on the ball and secure it.
I now have reason to hope for a productive and successful season and so do we all.

Last year Notre Dame beat NC State by like 40 then we lost to NC State and then beat Notre Dame. Transitive football does not apply in college football

The OL held up vs UGA in pass pro so I don't think that's going to be a massive issue going forward.
Against App St the play calling and decisiveness of the QB is what was encouraging. The right athletes were seeing the field too. That has more to do with scheme and philosophy that was why I was encouraged.
I won't say Clemson will score 30+ tomorrow but I'm thinking Clemsons offense looks good tomorrow. I predict the next thing you guys will say "Yea well let's see if the can do this against a top 25 team, NC State I'd trash they got blown out by Tennessee".

Kentucky almost beat Georgia and the wildcats lost to the coots by 25. Maybe Georgia isn’t as good as advertised either. Clemson needs to make a statement tomorrow .
