I see 7 guaranteed schollie players including PJ returning

Mar 23, 2023, 9:24 PM

Is Kelly and younger Nauseef on schollie? I did not count them. I also did not count Hemmenway as he went through Senior year rituals so I assume he has decided to leave. That said, CBB has to fill 4-6 schollies as he only has 1 commit for this year, I think? Can't see the basketball recruiting on Tnet as it jumps to football.

This year CBB only filled 13 of his 14 schollies. I think he shared a schollie with a couple walk-ons, maybe Nauseef's, but will CBB actually get 5- 6 more players to commit to Clemson?

I wish him luck because I want the players at Clemson to have successful season but I also wish we were excited about some new coaching blood.

I guess CBB will fill with the new type of 1-n-Done players. The graduates that transfer for 1 year like Galloway and Collins. Both were huge assets, nothing against them, just hate the new trend.

We have 8 scholarship players currently on our roster. Hemenway is returning. We have Asa Thomas coming in as well so we have 9 scholarship players at this point.

We should be taking 3 maybe 4 transfers this year.

Can we actually talk about basketball without you trolls invading every thread to cry?

If it's 8 guaranteed schollies and we have 1 commit (who could decommit as that happens), that is counting Hemmenway and I am not sure he is coming back, but if so that leaves 5 schollies. I hope Brad doesn't leave schollie empty again while I think he has for last couple years for a walk-on. My thoughts are that in BBall, never leave an open schollie because 1player can be a game changer. Why would CBB do that? Its not like you have 85 schollies and Brad always has 1-2 players out due to injuries. Fill those schollies would be important I would assume?

Doesn't seem like the true Brad Fans can say who his solid schollies are? I we are at 7-8 solid, that leaves 6-7 if CBB fills all them. Giving split schollies to kids just to have bodies to coach team with is horrible.

Pretty sure we haven't filled our 14 schollie quota for 2yrs in a row and I think its only 3 out of 5. Just think in last 2-3yrs, we could have recruited a player that made big strides and helped the team. Not filling the schollies is mind-blowing, but I think it''s more likely that the players to accept were not better than the walk-ons we had already?

It is a shame Brad cannot recruit high school players. Would be nice to develop players rather than take cast offs from other schools.

What difference does it make? Clemson won't make the NCAAT again, and Brownell will be given another year.

I thought the scholarship limit for basketball was 13. Either way we now need 3-4 from the portal. And certainly need some inside help.

Hadnt seen this article. That will be huge help if he can get healthy. Hope he does return but that will leave 4-5 slots to fill.

Scholarships for next season currently at 9:
PJ Hall, Sr. F/C
Chase Hunter, Sr. G
Alex Hemenway, Sr. G
Ian Schieffelin, Jr. F
Dillon Hunter, So. G
Josh Beadle, So.* G
RJ Godfrey, So. F
Chauncey Wiggins, So. F
Asa Thomas, Fr. G/F

Walk-ons with eligibility to return:
Matt Kelly, Jr. G
Daniel Nauseef, Jr. F

Players in Portal that Clemson has reportedly been in contact with (listed in order of my own preference):
Jamison Battle (Sr.*) 6-7 F, Minnestoa
Jace Carter (Jr.) 6-5 G, UI-Chicago
Dame Adelukan (Sr.*) 6-8 F, Dartmouth
Jackson Paveletzke (So.) 6-3 G, Wofford
Kowacie Reeves (Jr.) 6-6 G, Florida
Jayden Taylor (Jr.) 6-4 G, Butler
Greg Dolan (Sr.*) 6-3 G, Cornell
Javon Small (Jr.) 6-2 G, East Carolina
Mike Mitchell (Jr.) 6-2 PG, Pepperdine

Could still bring in a other HS recruit. Dillon Hunter was a late addition last year. I'd say Clemson definitely adds two transfers at the moment. I believe that incoming freshmen Asa Thomas will take some time to develop.

Great info (aka facts: ) Seems our returners make up a pretty good starting/first 6-7 players but definately need one more post player who can actually score on his own along with a solid guard who can also play at the point. There are apparently over 570 players in the portal currently and I don't believe this includes true graduate transfers who have a free pass already. Will be interesting to see who lands in Tigertown.
