There's no way I'm cheering for UNC or FSU to get to Omaha. Or to do anything. I cheer for Clemson. I don't care what other ACC teams do in any sport (and I'd be the same no matter what conference Clemson was part of).
That cheering for the conference stuff doesn't help Clemson a bit.

Disagree totally. That's one reason so many teams get picked from the sec. More teams do well in the conference, the higher they're ranked the next year, whether they're good or not.
Vandy has done well. Vandy or Florida not good this year but because of their history, a Tennessee beats them, then Tennessee must be great... so yes, the better your conference teams do, the better your odds are to get in to the tournament. Thus the cycle continues.
Looking at it any other way is being very close minded and not understanding how it works.

I agree. I also don’t understand the closed mindlessness of people who shame other people for cheering on the ACC. I personally cheer on the ACC when it’s the ACC vs non conference teams but some people try to shame me for it.
I understand other Clemson fans don’t cheer for the ACC and I totally respect their decision for that. I’m not going to shame them just because they don’t want to cheer for an ACC team. That would be stupid.
One poster even called me a “coot” because I wanted the ACC to do well in the softball tournament. He even still occasionally calls me a “coot” every once in awhile lol. I don’t know if he’s just a troll or if he genuinely believes what he’s saying. I kinda hope he’s a troll. If he’s not a troll then that just means we got a delusional person running around on here lol.

Agree totally with you and CGA. It's not really cheering for them but rather hoping that their success will upgrade the perception of the ACC. When any of those ACC teams play us, obviously a different story. My dream is an all ACC final 4 in basketball, half the teams standing in the final 4 or 8 CFP, and half the field or more in the MCWS are from the ACC. No .... I'm not greedy!

Have you ever represented Clemson as a member of a Clemson athletic team? I don’t know any former Clemson Athletes that pull for other ACC teams. They probably exist, but I don’t know them. I’m not judging, I’m just saying.

No I haven’t. I’m just a die hard Clemson fan. What I’m trying to say is that I think there is nothing wrong with cheering for or not cheering for an ACC team. Whether you cheer for or against an ACC team you shouldn’t be shamed for it or accused of not being a Clemson fan just because you cheer or don’t cheer for an ACC school in a non conference game.

So I don’t care if you do or don’t cheer for ACC teams. Just don’t make a big deal out of someone’s opinion of cheering or not cheering another team on. It doesn’t matter. They are still a Clemson fan at the end of the day. We all are.

Like for instance I’m cheering for Duke to beat Murray State tomorrow but that doesn’t make me any less of a Clemson fan. You can also look at it the other way too. I know some Clemson fans are hoping Murray State beats Duke tomorrow instead. Even tho I’m cheering for Duke tomorrow doesn’t mean I view those who cheer against other ACC teams as “fake Clemson fans for not cheering for our confrontation.” Like I said there is nothing wrong with cheering for or against ACC teams.

I understand an athlete not pulling for a conference member. But what is best for Clemson is for the ACC to do well. ESPN doesn’t want us to leave the ACC so unless FOX/B1G calls us or the super conference forms we need the ACC to be strong in any TV revenue sports.

I don't exactly cheer for ACC teams to win, but I want what is best for Clemson. If Clemson beats highly ranked teams, in turn, it will be ranked higher for doing so. That's why you want the teams in your conference to have good rankings.

The better the ACC does, the better it will be for Clemson in the coming years. I dislike FSU and UL but I dislike the SEC more.
