but let both BB and Clemson MBB go a different direction. BB has taken us about as far as he's able and it's time for new blood to bring some excitement. I've gotten to where I don't watch the games anymore and just wait for the box score and TNet the next day to see how we've done. With a new AD it's time for an amicable split.

Over the years, I've had to let hundreds of people go. Probably 99% of the time, the employee knew it was coming, and about half of those knew it should have happened sooner. As employers, we tend to hold on to people longer than we should - trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, or hoping things will change. My late father taught me two things many people find hard to understand:
1. "No one is great at everything. Know your weaknesses."
and the second one goes with it....
2. "If losing your job comes as a surprise to you, then you weren't as astute as you thought."
Rational people (BB) will know when his time is up. It will be amicable.

I would agree with you. I’ve been fired and laid off and also fired and laid off others. It should not be a surprise and generally it’s a matter of a job not being a good fit fir the person.

Done a great job at Colorado State and also Furman. so knows the area well.
Is 13-1 at Colorado State this season so far...

And he already uses the phrase, the best is yet to come... Cute family. He just looks like a coach.
I know this sounds stupid, and may be a womans thing, but I've always felt something I don't like. Kinda like Kirby smart, just want to slap that smug face or something. Maybe it's not likable, and that was day 1. Comes across to me like a pencil pusher at the irs.

Perhaps CBB has taken us as far as he can but understand a new coach could improve the program or could take it down like Shyatt. So dont assume we will improve with a new coach.

the first of which was with another coaches players, this is finally the year?
I won't believe it until I see it.
By all accounts, this is a down year for ACC basketball and, on that basis, the league will likely only get four or five teams in the Dance. After the debacle against BC, unless this team goes on a nice winning streak, I have no confidence Clemson will be one of them.

I agree with a lot of what you said, and I would be ok with firing brownell.
1. I don't believe brownell has peaked. Barring injuries/unexpected transfers, brownell could have his most talented team next year. If our freshman pan out, look out!!!
2. If you get on tigernet to see how we've done, then it's not surprising you want brownell to go. We have some of the most delusional basketball fans I've experienced on this board.

His freshman are good role players on the lines Ian Schifflin. We need difference makers.
Consider Niko Medved who has done great at Colorado State. They are 13-1 now with wins over good teams such St Mary and Creighton.
He also did a good job at Furman and was there for about 11 years including an assistant. He met his wife while at Furman so if she is from the area that is huge plus for the attraction of getting back to the area.

1. You don't think he has peaked? 3 tournament wins over a 20 year career....when exactly is he going to peak? How many times as fans have we said he will have his most talented team next year? I know I've said it on 2 separate occasions.
2. We have delusional basketball fans? Since when does wanting a little more than one and done in the ACC tourney and rare NCAA appearance become delusional. When does growing tired of consistently blowing leads become delusional.

1. Do you think we will have a more talented roster next year? What teams has he had that will be more talented than next year's team?
2. None of what you said was delusional. Wanting more for our basketball team is not delusional. Being frustrated and wanting brownell fired is not delusional. Buoy must not peruse the board on game days.

You said we have peaked under brownell. I disagree and told you why. You can't even come up with a response to that, other than saying I have multiple usernames on an anonymous website. What an idiot.

Judge Keller® Clemson mountaineers TinCan1 oldschool57
Just wanted to make sure I got all your handles. I responded to it Judge but as usual you read what you want to read. 3 tourney wins over a 20 year career means he's never going to peak. 2017-2018 is the best he will ever do no matter where he coaches. What teams has he had that's more talented than next years? You're really asking a dumb question like that? 2010-2011(thanks OP), 2017-2018(not good enough of a coach to build off it), and 2020-2021.
I said he should've been allowed to coach the 2020 recruiting class but only 1 remains. Most players hit their ceiling very early under him. The team needs their uniforms in the proper place for tonight's game so get your ### back to work.

I think DRAD told Brownell every year: "Win more than you lose, don't get in trouble with the NCAA and stay out of the football program's way"

I enjoy watching Brownell's basketball teams. The games are usually competitive.
Unless you think Clemson can land somebody like Coach K who will get the top recruits, it doesn't make sense to fire a coach who keeps Clemson competitive with decent but not great players.
If Clemson fires Brownell, there's a good chance PJ Hall goes elsewhere.
