Georgia's football recruiting

spending reached $4.5 million - one third more than any other school
“Guys, if you don't recruit, there's no coach out there that can out-coach recruiting,” Smart said after beating Florida in 2021. “I don't care who you are. … My family sacrifices so that I can go and spend time with other people's families so that we have good players. It's 25 percent evaluation, it's 50 percent recruiting and another 25 percent coaching. But if you don't recruit guys, you don't have a chance.”

So I guess that means if they got like 25 guys, an average of $180,000 spent on each.

Is it a laughable as spending millions on the tiger walk and kicking people out of their parking spot that they have had for years?

You wouldn't like to win back to back National Titles and finish top 3 in recruiting every year?

than their football program. For reference, Tommy West was the coach my first two years at Clemson. Our football program means the world to me mostly because we did it the right way. Not like a program that, year after year, swirls with rumors of corruption and players in the news for all the wrong reasons. Tell me this, can you imagine Stetson Bennet's name being replaced with Trevor Lawerence's after winning the NC then arrested a few weeks later? As is, everyone says "nother UGA criminal." Otherwise, you've got a scandal the size of Kirby's ego making national news.
The fact is, nobody can argue which program they'd rather be proud of for winning it all, given how they got there. One program is built on shaping young men to positively influence the betterment of the world and the other is going to sell a lot of t-shirts in Georgia before the convictions are too much for the UGA politicians to overcome. 🤷🏻♂️

I'd rather have a former QB get arrested for a drunk and disorderly over some of the other things that have been associated with our former players

Well Fred Davis flirted with a potential murder charge for a bit there.

Both are gone.
Regardless, all things considered, we (Clemson) are still the 2nd best program of the CFP era.
Top 4 P5 of the last 3 years and top 5 of the last 2.
Just stop.

2015-2020 was awesome for Clemson football! That was the years that Best truly was the Standard. That's what Georgia is now.

I'm far from Cootish or lazy. I remember the Tommy West days. Really wish Tommy had succeeded. I was at Chapel Hill in 94 when he got a good road win. I was also in Chapel Hill in '96 for the 45 to 0 game.

I think you agree with me, in fact.
If your first 2 years at Clemson were during the Tommy West era then we are very close in age. I graduated high school in 89. The 87 thru 90 seasons were awesome but Dabo sure topped that!

I'm not so sure Kirby's family is suffering because he is gone a lot. Sounds like a bonus to me.
