Found myself in Applebee's in Oxford, AL last night. There

was a loud, profane fellow sitting across the way wearing a Jacksonville State Football Staff jacket who was having dinner with another man I later learned was an assistant coach. Every other word out of the "staff" guy's mouth was "F*** this and F*** that..." Kids around. Women around. It didn't matter. After he finished his meal he proceeded to pick his teeth with a straw and spit the fragments on the floor. It was good to see him leave.
Out of curiosity, I looked him up this morning and learned RICH ROD is the head coach there now and the staff is full of Clemson folk (This guy was NOT Clemson affiliated). I know Dabo would never put up with such representation of the Clemson brand. And, it's easy to see why Rich Rod keeps bouncing from place to place because the above guy has been with him for years and that behavior and culture is apparently acceptable.

I've had two good meals there in the last three weeks. Would rather go to one of the chain steak houses, but it seems to take them an hour to get the food to the table. When I'm traveling, I like to keep moving.

When I travelled a lot for business I always tried to find a local place and avoid the chains. Sometimes got a little adventurous but usually turned out good.

I live in Pickens. Been going to Birmingham once a week trying to sew up my brother's estate (he died in December). I've been making it a day trip...5 hours there...6 hours of working...and then five hours back. We try to stop for one meal at the end of the day.

Hard to tell when Oxford stops and Anniston starts. When I travel from Greenville to Birmingham, I always stop in Oxford for gas on the way back ....... done it a million times it seems!
