i think you're thinking of the KO return against maryland... but, i believe Ford was faster than spiller... UNLESS... he had a ball in his hand. for some reason, that slowed him down.

According to Wikipedia, Ford faster than Hill.
Dec 6, 2018, 9:28 AM
|
|
Ford personal best: 60 6.51 100 10.01 200 20.88
Hill personal best: 60 6.71 100 10.27 200 20.97
0.2 seconds in a 60 is pretty clear daylight between the two.

Lancaster Co. native, former Clemson star wins gold in US sweeps of 200m
August 26, 2004 at 12:03 PM EST - Updated July 12 at 7:36 AM (Athens, Greece) Aug. 27, 2004 - Former Clemson sprinter Shawn Crawford won the Olympic gold medal in the 200 meters in an American medal sweep. The native of tiny Van Wyck in Lancaster County led an American medals sweep Thursday night in Athens.
Crawford, who owned the fastest 200 this year heading into the race, ran a personal best of 19.79 seconds, "Feels great. It feels great. We as Americans, we came out here. We got the job accomplished the way we set out to do it. We finished gold, silver and bronze in the 200 meter dash."
Crawford wasn't always a track star. In 1999, he had been kicked off the Clemson track team and was looking for a fresh start in football. But, after he was injured in his first game at running back, he decided to talk to track coach Charles Foster again.

Until your post, I didn’t know that he’s ever worn a Clemson uniform. And given that I can’t even find a rushing yard out of him in the one game he played, I’m going to give credit to Ford.

If we're talking track stars then it would have to be Travis Padgett. At one time Padgett had the collegiate 100m record at 9.89s.

I think Sammy's biggest advantage was his quick acceleration. I don't think his top end speed was in the same league as Jacoby though. Sammy was a 100m state champ in track just like Jacoby, but Ford ran a 10.32 in high school compared to something like (I believe) a 10.7 for Sammy. That doesn't look like much, but 4 tenths is a huge difference when it comes to world class sprinters.

Ford and Spiller both said Ford was faster out of pads and Spiller was faster in pads. Spiller and ETN are the few that I've seen pull away from everyone. The type that won't get ran down when everyone is behind them.

These came from a 2011-2012 Track and Field Media Guide and are best times either indoor or outdoor as some didn't post both.
A source below has Spiller at 10.22 and Hill and Curry at 10.27 in 100
Spiller 6.65 and Feaster 6.88 in 60
