I would think so but they are not worth it unless from a very reputable university. I would only take it through a lesser university if you are already considered good management material by your employer and you just need thjs coursework to become familiar with business fundamentals.

Online degrees are catching on and most major universities are leaning in the direction of offering online coursework. Cummulative online classwork will add up if you don't find an online degree program that suits.

It all depends on how you view education

On-line programs reduce education to transactional, meaning it is merely the acquiring of facts. That may be all you need or want. But a truly great education is transformational, meaning it changes the whole person. That requires personal interaction with students and professors in a way that can only happen in a classroom setting. So if a person merely wants the piece of paper to perhaps further a career, an online program may do. If a person wants to be see the world with an expanded viewpoint honed through an educational process, that will require more than online program.

Im am looking for this type of experience but return on investment and employer recruitment at the school are the most important. I already have a nice amount od student loans from a jd program so its a little scary to go back full time.

MBA's are a dime a dozen and there is quite a bit of data out there about the diminishing return of the investment an MBA brings, especially from online degrees and less accredited programs. If you are going to invest time an money into a degree then do it right and let it payoff. Otherwise, it will cost you more than its worth in the long run.

IT really depends on WHY you want an MBA. If you want it b/c your current job requires it to further advance, go for it.
But if you really do not have a special purpose in mind, may not be worthwhile.
In fact it can be a hindrance if you are not already at a level just below where an MBA is required.
So, it really, really, really depends on your situation.

Working in a human resources department, we tend to discount the online only programs. There are many schools that offer MBA programs for working professionals. I would look into those. I would also suggest looking at a more focused program rather than a general MBA. Ex. Masters in HR or IB. Those carry more weight.

There is no comparison to the access that full-time MBA students get to recruiting, resources and internships.
If you're set on a career path, or will continue on with a certain company, then the curriculum is not meaningfully different, do it.
But if you're looking to change careers, or make a jump that you cannot access without an MBA, then you need to get into a full-time program. Take the loan and make the sacrifice. It will pay off if you work hard and network your tail off. Otherwise, if you only need the letters next to your name somewhere, go part time.
Online will not be taken seriously. There's too many programs out there now, MBA is the undergrad of 20 years ago.
