Do you think Dabo's master plan with NIL is to save up for he next DW4 or TL16?

I think there is a special pot building just for that guy. Clemson wins and competes with the big boys when we get the right QB first. That has always been Dabo's success to winning. With NIL now, unless you find a sure fire guy or have endless pockets, it really doesn't make sense to open up the wallet for a guy you're not 100% sure about. Seems he tries to get a top 10 guy, roll with him for 3 years then find the next best thing. If it's a swing and a obvious miss (ie. Hunter Johnson), move on quickly. I don't think NIL has change things much for us.
Bottom line, get a stud at QB and he makes most of your warts and problems disappear. In the meantime, load up on D-Lineman. I believe he thinks he'll eventually find that guy and another championship will come. Expect 7-10 wins to become the new norm until that happens.

It would be a big gamble because that type QB would create a bidding war that we would probably lose. So, I don't think that is Dabo's plan.

Of course it will be a bidding war. The only way we win a bidding war versus bigger budget schools is to save up. If I'm Dabo, and I make $11M/yr, I'd personally be funding that pot to make sure the money is there for who I believe is that next guy. The top guys now get $2-4M. We'd have to be prepared to up the ante to $5-$6M if he's really sold on a guy.

Unsure Dabo makes that call. IMHO it would be a funding sponsor who makes that call. But agree with you CUEngGrad93 that the right QB makes a lot of warts go away.

If you can’t protect him then it really doesn’t matter. UGA just recruited 5 OL that average 6’7” and 365. UGA has not had elite QBs on their run. They have had good game managers and surrounded them with great skill players and a wall upfront. We have to figure out the OL piece and go from there.

We have 2 Natties with just decent O-Lines. It is foolish to try and build a team the way Bama and UGA do it. They will always have more talent top to bottom because they have a larger alumni base to funnel in the money. The equalizer is QB. You can win with an elite D-Line, a couple good skill players, solid secondary, and elite QB play. We've proven it twice. I see no evidence why that way all of a sudden stops working. Our two most recent championship teams would beat all 4 of this year's playoff teams pretty easily (I doubt you'd get much argument with that nationally). The Bama teams TLaw and Watson beat were a 100 times better and more talented than this year's Tide team.

We were blessed to have 2 generational QBs back to back. We were spoiled into thinking how easy that was. We might be waiting a long time for the next one so I don’t think that strategy is going to work.

We've got a big name coach and a Top 10 brand at least for maybe another 5-10 years. Generally at some point you can get a super hot girl to move in.

I don't think we have to save up NIL for that kind of generational talent. If we are in the hunt for that type of guy, the NIL will rise to the level necessary to meet that opportunity.
