Yes, Clemson Football does offer NIL opportunities for high school recruits. The Clemson University Athletic Department supports student-athletes receiving compensation for their name, image, and likeness (NIL), which can contribute to their personal and professional development. However, Clemson Football emphasizes that NIL is used for retention rather than acquisition, meaning they focus on building relationships with recruits beyond financial incentives. This approach has helped Clemson attract high-quality talent while navigating the evolving landscape of college football recruiting.
BOOM! The truth has been revealed. NIL is guaranteed to those high school recruits that come and earn it. They do receive payment in the form of revenue sharing as soon as they arrive to campus, but NIL is reserved for retention rather than recruitment. In other words, you were wrong yet again and that means the Dabo is still doing it his way which in my opinion, the right way to coach a football team. He hasn't changed anything regarding the philosophy approach to governing his football program. He has fired and hired some great coaches lately. Other than that, no NIL is currently being offered to high school recruits.
Now, once Clemson wins the National Championship this season you can gobble down that crow and we can shift our focus on replacing Brownell who has yet to bring a Championship to Clemson basketball.

Why would JK respond to a rant as there was not a question in any of the paragraphs. The OP has every right to post his opinion the same as JK.

It's not that JK lives rent free in my head. No, it is just the simple fact that JK is wrong about Clemson football. NIL is not offered to high school students in Football. Although, if one player comes in as a freshman and plays lights out then many companies will probably want to use their name, image, or likeness. In that specific scenario, NIL packages are available to said player. Aside of that, NIL money is used for retention of talent on the roster.

Bro if you really believe we’re not offering NIL or using NIL to recruit high school guys of the caliber we’re getting then I don’t know what to tell you.
I know the thread you’re referring to and we are absolutely 1000% without a doubt using NIL to recruit.
You really think we’re getting these top guys just bc of coaching changes? I’m not saying that doesn’t play a role… it certainly does but at the end of the day… the NIL is the top allure for 95% of these kids and the kids we recruit are no different.
I know a lot here won’t to believe we’re holier than thou but we’re not. Now for us yes NIL is certainly used for retention and I know you’re referring to that bc Dabo himself said it but the thing is… he said that… what… 2 years ago? When he thought he could still do it the old way.
I promise you after the debacle of what happened to our class last year he learned his lesson. Which is why we’re getting the guys were used to getting again.
It’s impossible to compete at this level without using NIL as a recruiting pitch. Dabo saw that after last year. He’s no dummy and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why what happened to the last class… happened.

No he doesn’t the football program still doesn’t lead with NIL. I could give numerous examples but one in particular is Samarri Matthews. We said adios to his recruitment for that reason.
Your boy Brad on the other hand has a handful of boosters that’s allowed on the team plane. That’s how he has become successful in the portal.

Where did I say they lead with it? I didn’t… don’t move the goalposts.
I said we use it to pitch just like everyone else.
I don’t really care whether you or anyone else thinks we do or don’t.
We absolutely do and if you believe we don’t use it at all then you’re naive and I’m sure you get taken advantage of on a daily basis.

CLEMSON FOOTBALL DOES NOT OFFER NIL FOR RECRUITMENT. How many times does Dabo have to make himself clear about this. No wise businessman would ever dump money into a recruit that hasn't worked a single day for the company.

I agree with you about the Judge.
And you are right about the new coaches that Dabo has hired. They have done a fantastic job!
The new assistants that Coach Brownell has hired have also done a great job since they were hired in 2022. Since Associate HC Billy Donlon and Sean Dixon the Basketball Team is 74-30 overall and the 2nd most ACC wins in that 3 year period after only Duke at 43 ACC wins. Also recruiting and quality player additions from the portal have gotten better.
Clemson fans should be proud that the two top revenue sports are doing well with Football under Dabo leading the charge.
Judge needs to stop having fans argue about this sort of thing for sure.

Remember when he threatened to quit if college football players ever got paid?
Thankfully he seems to have changed his mind on that. He probably realized that money for players is here to stay, and by speaking out against it he hurts our program. Plus, I’m sure it doesn’t bother him enough to stop doing what he loves and giving up his $11 million a year salary.

1. He wasn't a high school recruit or even a freshman.
2. Clemson did not offer that NIL package.
3. Dr.Pepper lost a ton of money on that campaign.
4. Clemson did not pay that NIL, it was structured differently prior to 2024.
5. That NIL deal didn't involve Coach Swinney at all.

The Dabo cult has been led to believe that NIL = bad

unless it is used to retain players who have proven themselves.
It is a weird belief system.
NIL is a tool, one we better be using to the fullest. Is it ideal to devote dollars to a guy before you know he can perform? No, it isn't. But it is necessary today to compete for top recruits on a consistent basis.
Dabo had to decide if he was going to modify his stance on this. The evidence told him that he must, and to his credit, he did.
Our recruiting is significantly better now than it was a year ago, and it isn't because we won the ACC last year or hired Tom Allen. Those things help, but their impact pales in comparison to including money in our offers to high school recruits.
Again, there is nothing wrong with this. It is what we should be doing in 2025 (and should have been doing in 2022, 2023, and 2024 as well).

I know this much, but I also know how it will be structured. Dabo has been open and transparent about it. Clemson has stated that 85% of the Revenue Sharing Cap will go towards football. Therefore, the base pay will still be above 6 figures for each player if a base pay scale is incorporated. NIL on the other hand is going to be a separate issue which will be offered to existing players on the roster as a means to maintain talent retention.
