Creative Offense

Oct 16, 2021, 9:47 PM

Every offense I watched today, every one, is more creative than the embarrassing RPO Tony Elliott is running.

OL coaching is fine ... G's and T's (and C ... before Rayburn going out) were all improving.

OL players are predominantly young. You're witnessing the performance of a work-in-progress (which is getting better but won't be truly good until all 5 OL members are each good). When Rayburn gets back (who is OK, but much better than what we had to play last night), and the current group of G's and T's stay reasonably healthy, you'll then see that (1) Caldwell is actually a good coach and (2) the Offense overall will 'magically' start being noticeably better.

2022 season will be fun, but I am confident that we can enjoy some good offense (and more wins) in the final 5 or 6 games of 2021 season.

I hope you're right but I have to ask: how can this be? We've been a program that has traditionally put in a lot of players and have been led to believe this was done. in part, as an element of player development. Why does it seem we are now reliant on guys who lack development?

Is that you Coach Caldwell? Can I have some of what you're smoking? (The O-line "FINE").

Yeah watching a few games today I've heard comments

about creative and great route combinations. Can't remember last time I heard that about our passing game.

Unless you are watching the coaches tape, none of us really know how “creative” the offense is…. I saw TE scheme WRs wide open on Friday night and they dropped the balls. I think right now we lack explosive play capabilities more so that lack of creativity.

That said I would love to see more pre-snap motion, some exotic blocking schemes in the run game like I saw BC doing last night from under center. I think we’ve run one jet sweep all year and that was with Ross vs UGA. It’s too late in the season to just adopt a new playbook but it should be possible to dip into our own playbook from 2014-16.

Yep. Especially Florida, and then Ole Miss.***
