Used to be a point of pride on this team. Not any more. We have totally forgotten how to hit. Really sad to see the gradual decline the last few weeks.

Most have a terrible approach, like that Jarrell at bat in the DP the inning before, just slaps at a ball off the plate. But they'll let meat pitches go over the heart of the plate and just stand there

It is all attitude. About mid season there was a shift in attitude at the plate when a few guys who are NOT HR hitters, managed to hit a couple out and suddenly thought they were Barry Bonds. Now they have sunken into the rut of taking perfect strikes and getting in the hole, then waving at pitches off the plate. Total opposite from the way they began the season just trying to play pepper and get the ball in play with a line drive somewhere. Home runs can sometimes be the worst thing to happen to a banjo hitter.
