The coordinator on either side of the ball that has been around for a while and has gained years of experience by working under other successful coaches, usually they to will become known as a coach worth having if they have decent talent to coach up they will be successful it want matter to much who is brought in if they don't have talent to work with.

Make no mistake about it that Venables was as successful as he was for as long as he was at Clemson is bc we had some pretty good defensive players when he got to Clemson, and that allowed him to improve on what we had and it helped him with bringing in the talent that helped with making him known as one of the best DC's in the country.

Our Clemson FB program has been known throughout the years of having pretty good players on the defensive side of the ball and we still have some good talent on the D side of the ball, and with that being said, bring in a known DC with experience and with Clemson's name of usually having an above average defense, and if our new DC can recruit, he too within a short amount of time will also be know as one of the best DC's in the country that will be able to attract elite defensive talent year in and year out.

IMO Dabo somehow let that slip his mind when he chose Goodwin for our DC. Bring in another talent like BV as our DC and we'll be back at the top before we can blink. I don't care much about the name our new DC will have as long as he has been known as being successful bc Clemson can and will attract the defensive talent to take us back up...
