respectfully, the two populations don't have much in common. the same argument is used when comparing scandanavian countries the US.
Infant mortality rate has a lot more to do with other variables that the quality of healthcare provided in the US. These variable include drug and alcohol use, lack of prenatal care, poor health/obesity, etc. So it's not apples to apples.
There are a lot more people coming to the US from Canada for health care than the other way around.
To be honest, many of these variable have gotten much worse since the Great Society programs and the "war on poverty"

Am I wrong? Did Canadians boo our Anthem before the last few months? In what way is this ridiculous rift between allies not 100% started on our end? I mean...if we need to adjust some tariffs, fine. Have those discussions. But to casually say that they should become the 51st state was an insult. It was intended to be a demeaning insult. America or not. The point is that the idea was not presented as some sort of mutually beneficial opportunity between respected allies. It was presented as a demeaning insult to their country by the POTUS. If you intend to insult someone with your words, don’t be shocked if they’re insulted.

If you had a 10 year old son and I thought I could raise him to be more successful than you can, and I express that as “Your parents are ignorant rubes, come join my family”, what I did was insult your family. You can talk about my altruistic intent all day long but at the end of the day, I chose to demean.
Not that I think Trump is trying to “save Canada”. Nor would I understand how “saving Canada” would fit in with a MAGA mindset. But regardless, none of that is the point. Canadians are not French. One province alone has a majority of citizens claiming French ancestry. That is Quebec which has harbored sentiments of secession from Canada forever.
Canada was a Dominion of England until 1867 and has remained a loyal ally of England ever since. Canada has no sentimental feelings towards France.
