No offense to the guy, but has he made a single play all season?

Was he highly recruited? The guy has been around forever but seems to have made zero impact on our program. A portal player at DE would have been a big deal for us this season.

Coaches missed on him. Seems like a great kid but not a D end for championship FB.

For sure. I'm sure he's a good kid, but man

I'm having a hard time thinking Rumph looked at Denhoff and honestly said "Nah, I like the players we have." 😬

He didn't. Everyone who is honest knows that.

That's what I'm having a hard time believing. Can't

believe defensive coaches looked at our DB depth and said no, we're good. Of course right now, I'm thinking the same thing about Spiller and the RB depth.

We have 1 RB right now

If it wasn't already clear before, it certainly was after Mafah played 90+ snaps against louisville. The coaches have zero faith in any other backs.

Someone stated in a post that Mafah played with an injury. Surprised Haynes wasn't used more especially on wheel route action. Adams ran well at Wake.

It’s has always been that way with our running backs. Our coaches have always taken the smaller quick backs and made them follow the blockers up the middle instead of letting them use their quickness to bounce it outside. Travis E. made his splash in the Louisville game as a freshman when he bounced it outside and the took it 60-70 yards to the house. I remember the coaches after the game saying he would play more when he learns to follow his blocks better. Let Haynes be Haynes and do his thing and he would be way more productive!

Was rated as a 4 star by all services. ESPN.com and 247Sports top 100 player. ESPN.com lsted him as the nr 88 player in the country and the 10th best DE. 247Sports listed as nr 89 overall and nr 8 DE. Rivals.com listed nr 188 best overall and nr 8 DE. PrepStar top 150 Dream Team selection nr 83 overall and nr 8 DE. Seems coaches weren't only ones who missed. Impressive size at 6'5" 255.

Seems we’ve had a lot of “misses” lately and they all seem to have happened around the time our coaches became so inexperienced. Hmm, wonder if there is some correlation there to coaching…

Denhoff runs very well, and he stucks his nose in there. Sometimes he gets the OT a little bit off balance, but not enough to truly best the OT when pass rushing.

Denhoff is able to keep his eye on the QB or RB while the play is ongoing, and disengages very well and gives chase to whoever has the ball and position himself to make the tackle from behind is the RB or scrambling QB slows down to make a jump cut.

He has improved each year, though. He may improve again next year, maybe by enough to actually beat the OT who he’s up against and start getting some QB pressures. It just takes longer for some players to physically mature than others.
