I've seen enough reports to believe it is probably true, but I'm not ready to take it to the bank yet.
Seems as though Pete Thamel first broke it and everybody is running with it. But, it's being reported on more than just message boards and twitter. The Athletic and Bleacher Report, among others, are reporting it.
If so, Luke Fickell will be the hot name. Too bad for him. He'll have to squelch rumors with his team before the game this Saturday.

As weird as this may sound I think ND would be a perfect fit for Elliott…just not sure they can go that route in this recent coaches arms race though!!!

Yep. Look for Fickell to be the new ND coach. Cincinnati’s DC likely takes over for Fickell. Crazy times. Can’t say I’m a fan of all this chaos.

if Kelly is gone then no way that happens. What would Fickell do if Cincy makes the playoff and ND offers him? Guess he will take the job but still coach at Cincy?

ND would likely promote Marcus Freeman, win win for both schools, Kelly will be somewhere that he can get anyone into school and he will win a natty finally… good for him, I like the guy more and more each year after being annoyed by him back in 2015 and before.
