At one time it was Shoney's.
Ignorant folks see salad as diet food.
Like with BBQ, the best is home made.
Mine tonight is about 5000 calories and excellent.

I have a BBQ place across the street from me in Port Royal - they have a BBQ salad - ain't nothin diet about it, but also ain't nothin bad about it either. Good stuff.

Awesome back in the day when everything was fresh all the time, hard to beat that Ryan’s meal. They closed because of horrible mismanagement.
They were always packed.
Firebird’s here in WinstonSalem or in Greenville/Spartanburg is very good salad’s too!

Homemade. I take a bland lettuce mixture, a can of mandarin oranges, and a slab of deli turkey (about .75 to 1" thick).
Put the greens on a plate, top with a generous amount of mandarin oranges, and then cube your turkey slab and brown in hot butter or olive oil in a fry pan. Dump on top. Serve with Ranch Dressing.
Better than delicious.

Yes I agree with the Peddler. There was a restaurant in Rock Hill back in the day called the Branding Iron that had a great salad bar. It was almost like a dungeon in there but we went there a lot.
