He's 72. So, off the bat this is pointless. Belichick is a major jerk with a quirky personality and was about to be run out of the league until Tom Brady fell in his lap. Brady left, he sucked again. More than half team will enter the portal after season 1 and a 2-10 record. He won't last 2 seasons.

Packer, Roddy White, and Chris Cotter were just extolling how good he is and how much credibility he will bring to ACC football. I agree w you and not them but a UNC flop is always to my liking

Bobby Bowden was great and he aged and it fell off.

He is or was a great coach. About like SC bringing in Holtz imo. Hiring a name and both missed on them being in their primes.
I would be looking at some of the better coordinators around the country or a highly regarded FCS coach before I’m hiring another retirement project.

Would be more like Nick saban going to USC.
It's hard for a coach to have as dominant a stretch as he did in the nfl given you are always drafting last and missing out on some serious talent. Brady was a big part, but he doesn't play D and some of those patriots teams had top notch defenses.

I'm a UNC MBA grad and my wife is an undergrad so I casually follow them. Apparently they've also pledged to provide a $20mm a year NIL budget to him so that should help with recruiting while he's old. He's also hiring an NFL style GM office to handle recruiting, roster management, and NIL deals.
It's definitely a swing for the fences, likely either works well or he implodes similar to Herm Edwards at Arizona State.

Lol. Greatest college fb hire ever. Lot of jealous tiger fans butt hurt over this one. I despise UNC and never pull for them to win chit.
Belichick is the future of CFB. He will get that program set up for the future and UNC will have a huge head start on every one else. He just added millions of dollars worth of value to that team.
Boston College, GT, DUKE, MIAMI, SMU and now UNC are all going to be very good in FB in a couple of years. They are going to be competing for CFP spots. Hope we can hang in with them.
Book mark this post. UNC just changed the landscape of the ACC. I THINK THEY WILL SOON BE IN THE SEC OR BIG. PRIVATE EQUITY MAY BE IN THEIR FUTURE. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE UP THE CASH COW THAT FUNDS ALL OF THEIR OLYMPIC SPORTS.
HOW DOES ANYONE THINK THE GOAT OF NFL IS TOO DUMB TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE NFL LITE.
