Anyone who thinks we can’t compete for another ACC title

is not thinking clearly. Yes the offense looks terrible. But the D is magical this year. That is enough to carry us to an Atlantic title. Who else in the ACC looks like they can score at will on our D?
We most certainly won’t be sitting the starters in the 3rd and 4th quarters like we’re used to seeing but I don’t see us not making the ACC and possibly winning it again.

that's what we are doing each game we play - competing for the chance to play for the ACC title.
Anyone who thinks it is a given that we will, or that Clemson will win it this year, now that is the one not thinking clearly.

Not for nothing, but the ACC is a dumpster fire this year. Easily the worst of the power 5 conferences. Winning this conference isn’t going to mean anything nationally. Struggling to beat a team you are a 28.5 point favorite isnt impressing anyone.

It doesn't take "scoring at will" to beat us. Just score a TD or two and mix in a FG or two and that will be enough as it stands now.
GT was picked 6th in the Coastal pre-season. They are terrible. TERRIBLE. And we easily could have lost. Now we all know good teams can lose a game to any team. But, after three games there is a clear pattern that the Offense is not even close to being a top 25 offense.
A big challenge NC State coaches will have is to convince their players Clemson will be a difficult game.

It ain't the ACC title, but your not thinking clearly about the CFP's, which is the goal.
The team has one loss. Thank goodness it was OOC.
Lose one ACC game, you can still win the ACC,
Lose another game ,however, and you won't make the playoff's.

Yeah, but what Bobby says is important...ACC is the worst, by far, of Power 5.
VT and Miami losing to unranked teams yesterday. Winning the ACC with one loss will not be a great resume.

Everyone knows Dabo has a list of goals each year. You don’t get to one before the other.
1. Win the opener. Ok we blew that.
2. Win the division. Still in reach.
3. Win the State championship Still in reach
4. Win the ACCCG Stil in reach
5. Win the “bowl” game Still in reach
6. Win the Natty Still in reach.
You can’t win the Natty without making the playoffs. You can’t make the playoffs without winning the ACC. You can’t win the ACC without winning the division.
Stay focused on the task at hand. Don’t look past the goals in front of you. That’s the message.

There is only one problem with your comments;
The CFP committee doesn't go by Dabo's list of goals in determining whether or not we make the playoff's.
You think they care if we win the opener. They do care if you looked bad offensively doing it.
Winning the opener .Georgia could still make the playoff's if they go undefeated in the regular season and lose a close game to Alabama in the SECCG. That's because they won the opener. Dabo didn't.
Winning the State Championship might be important if the coots had beaten UGA yesterday But if we lose that game, we are definitely out because of the 2- loss rule.
Winning the ACCG in past years would have carried more weigh ,but not this year. Name me one ACC school that the Committee really cares if they play Clemson or not.(And please don't say Notre Dame. They aren't part of the scenario this year like they were last year.
Win the Bowl game. Well, if we go to a bowl game, and it isn't one of the CFP semi-final games, the Natty is out of reach.
The problem is not the goals of Dabo, but the criteria used by the committee in picking the 4 finalist.

The whole argument just flew waaaaay over your head.
I’ll make it simple.
You can’t count to 3 unless you count to 2 first. 1, 2, 3. See how that works?
If your end game is playoffs and NC you gotta do the other stuff first. Playoffs are irrelevant at this point in time. Talk to Jim Mora he’ll tell you.

It is irrelevant when you consider how only 4 teams are chosen out of 5 Power Conferences for the CFP's.Georgia proved that a couple of years back when both them and Alabama made the playoff's.

ACC is trash this year and Brent Venables has an elite defense that seems to be getting better each week.
Of course we can win the ACC and that is one of the program's goals each year: Win the ACC, win the State, make it to/win the CFP.
I don't see us getting to the third goal this year with this offense unless major changes are made.
