Apologies if this has already talked about. With Dabo looking at our deficiencies he has to see special teams.

Our punter strictly works on bench press.

I'd start with the 512 blocked FGs. It can't all fall on Peter Woods not being available.

It was Woods, and when he went back in there it went away. That wasn’t all of a sudden a coaching issue. It was personnel.

Are you joking? You need a 5 star DT to block extra points?

Dabo using Peter Woods’ absence in the FG unit’s blocking woes is a terrible excuse. I love what Dabo has done for us. No ‘but but but’ qualifiers. Dabo is arguably the single most important figure in the history of Clemson athletics.
That said, I trust that Clemson’s FG blocking unit can be a superior performing group even if P.Woods or Capehart aren’t available. That T.Howard … a regular player at OG on our offensive line … got knocked flat on his back when in FG blocking unit by a Louisville ‘kick rusher’ Guy speaks volumes to the technique and scheme problems on our FG unit.
Using our best DTs as the primary solution to our FG unit blocking schemes + technique deficiencies is in a sense a cry for help that has (apparently) not been addressed.

Strength and Conditioing is a part of it too since Howard got knocked on his buff. Maybe there needs to be a change in our strength and conditioning coach.

I’m hoping you meant to say something different from how it comes across. Peter Woods was not responsible for our poor special teams play.

Okay then, blocked field goals and punting has been atrocious.

Basically zero blocking on PRs and KRs on top of your list! Dabo has always professed ball security but if Randall had listened to Dabo and take a knee, we would have lost that game. Just shows our ST philosophy sux!

When is the last time we returned a kick or punt for a TD? I will hang up and wait…
Hint: 13 years ago on a kickoff return and 6 years ago on a punt return.

I don’t care if we enlist Brad Brownell to help out with our punter and FG blocking unit problems, we need help in those areas.

Clemson does not have a dedicated "special teams" coach.
But if you were a fan, you'd know that.

The biggest problem with special teams is Clemson loses field position both ways on punting. We NEVER rush the punter and everyone looks like Ray Guy. Then our offense is forced to go 80-90 yards to score every possession. This is the biggest problem with special teams.

I would feel more comfortable with an assistant coach from the Daniel HS staff.

But we need a special teams coach. I never have any expectations that we will block a punt. I can’t remember our last one.
I know we will not flip the field with a long punt, unless the Gods smile on a lucky bounce.
Blocked field goals became a running joke…
