Today is World Panic day, aimed at bringing attention to panic disorders, anxiety, and other mental illnesses. So of course nothing to do with the band.
Through a bit of odd circumstances and my adhd kicking in full force, I looked up WP's wikipedia page. I knew they were out of Athens, a hot spot for all sorts of amazing bands. What I did not know, was that they began playing under a completely different name. Given the Georgia football program's recent traffic issues, I could not help but chuckle when I saw they started as "Severe Driving Problems" -unknowingly foreshadowing their hometown Bulldogs driving issues and violations.
From wikipedia: "John Bell and Michael Houser met in 1981 in their dorm at the University of Georgia in Athens. Bell had been playing guitar as a solo act and invited his new friend Houser, also a guitarist, to join him. They later performed as a duet under the name “Severe Driving Problems.”
