Another day in the NET

Rankings that is a head scratcher. We dropped one to 23 after our win over Notre Dame and Illinois moved up one to 22 after their win over Iowa. This coming off a 3 game losing streak and having 11 total loses to our 5. Can we go back to rpi. They have us at 15 and Illinois at 46. That seems more legit.

I don't know the NET formula but it appears to

be much more of a predictive rating like KenPom rather than a resume measure.

but are ranked about the same.

At some point, wins and losses need to matter.

where losing to good teams doesn't hurt you at all. LSU made the tennis tournament last year with a 1-11 record in the SEC.

Loses do need to matter

They have more quad 1 Ws and most their Ls are quad 1. I think it's dumb that quad 1 Ls pretty much count as a tie but that seems to he the case.

It’s the dumbest system of rating teams I’ve ever seen. The BSC was better than the net lol. If leagues have figured out how to game it like big 12 last year then it needs to be redone or thrown away for better model. They reward teams more for losing good games than winning. We just got to take care of business. Go Tigers!!!

The loss to GT added another 5.

That loss dropped from quad 2 to quad 3 this week

I don’t think you understand - it’s working exactly the way they want it to. Rank em high early and feed off of each other since it only helps to play your conference.
