12 seniors. 22 commits.

Chandler Reeves and Brian Dawkins Jr foregoing their 5th year.
Simmons, Etienne, Tee, and Terrell going pro.
That’s only 18.
Do you think some of the players have informed the coaches of their potential transfer? And if so, who are your guesses?

if we lost both. That would leave us with one QB a freshman and Batson.

I put Chase at about a 75% chance of transferring.

Taisun I can see going after next season, but if he thinks he can play somewhere now, he might jump. I doubt it, but there's the possibility.

My understanding is that he has just graduated and still has 2 years’ eligibility remaining. To me, not having any particular insight, the opportunity to transfer without penalty and play 2 years raises his probability of transferring to about 95%.

I was thinking you could get 3 back from Upshaw and the the Edwards twins. Wasn’t sure if Dabo would do that though.
Possible transfers: Chase Brice, LeAnthony Williams, and/or Xavier Kelly.

I don’t think Xavier Kelly is going anywhere. He seems to be content with practicing and playing mop up duty while having free tuition. Selfishly I want Brice to stay but he deserves a shot at the top of the depth chart somewhere.

Kelly is a redshirt junior and should be on pace to graduate in May. He might not crack the 4 deep at DT next season.

Never want to see any Tigers leave, but I think would be so cool for Chase to head down to USF. Would be a really neat duo and a key foundational piece on the new look Bulls. Might also help Chase's chances to succeed, given familiarity with Coach Scott and vice versa.
Plus, Coach Scott would have a great QB to help put some W's in the record book.
All that to say: If Chase has to leave, I hope he goes somewhere that can promote himself and the Tigers in a positive way.

Speaking of secondary. Did Kyler McMichael’s scholarship get used this year? That may be an extra scholly we’re not thinking about.

My guess..

We have a total of 22 known committed recruits. Our current commits are;
Ajou Ajou- WR S. Allen -LB D. Bowman -RB B. Bresee - DL D. Capehart - DL F. Davis - DB S. Ennis - TE T. Howard - OL M. Mayes - DL RJ. Mickens - DB M. Murphy - DL W. Parks - OL K. Pryor - RB T. Simpson - LB K. Swint - LB P. Tchio - OL B. Tucker - OL DJ Uiagalelei - QB T. Venerables- DB J. Williams - OL EJ Williams - WR T. Williams - OL
In terms of departures, there are 12 that have used all thier eligibility: T. Anchrum G. Cervenka Z. Gielia D. Johnson T. Muse D. Overton P. Phipps S. Pollard J. Simpson C. Smith A. Spense K. Wallace There were 3 other guys who walked at senior day C. Groomes B. Dawkins C. Reeves
That means at least 7 other guys have to leave freeing up their scholarships. A few are assumed/known: T. Etienne T. Higgins AJ Terrell I. Simmons C. Brice
So that means at least 2 more must be leaving/transferring but with a couple more recruits possible/likely (Greene and Henderson) there probably need to be at least 4. Luke Price, Rencher, and the Edward twins (together count as 1) were 1-year guys. I imagine Price and Rencher keeps theirs, not sure about the Edwards’.
I could see TJ Chase, C Powell and perhaps L. Williams transferring. With T Howard being added maybe B Vinson’s injury is worse than expected and he is done. There will probably some surprise transfer/draft guy as well.
Regardless CDS always make the numbers work without resorting to pulling scholarships; I have no expectations this year will be any different.

A very thoughtful presentation of the data - something that Tigernet editors should be posting - thanks!

I think he ended the season as our 6th best DT. ThE 5 ahead of him can all come back. Then you add what we have coming in.
