Normally it's HH on Thursday, then a Friday or Saturday.
This week was a little more because I drank Thurs, Friday and Sunday. But that's not typical.
Sometimes depending what's going on, it's not at all.

Get "drunk"? Maybe once every 6 months. Last night I had one bourbon. Felt zilch. Sometimes I have two and feel a little buzz. Never drink more than 2 drinks normally. Sometimes at a lake party or some special occasion I will drink 3-4 drinks, but that's VERY rare.

bourbon or rum usually. Just something icy and straight. Only drink beer at a bar or ballgame, never at home.
Light buzz, but not enough to get wasted. Just to relax and chill.
And 99% of the time I have sobered up before going to sleep, I always quit a couple hours before bedtime and rehydrate with water.
As Hank Jr sang, "the hangovers they hurt more than they used to."
So I don't want any part of them no more.

That's probably the only real reason I don't get shithoused every night. And I'm not sure how I should feel about that, honestly.

You don't want to get a hangover, which is saving you from cirrhosis.
But man, the effects of chronic alcoholism are no bueno. Had a buddy that went through a rough divorce and spent the next decade drinking hard. He's had to make dramatic lifestyle changes after extended hospitalization for liver damage, and a premature death may now be unavoidable.
He's in his late 30s.

Was he drinking 24x7 everyday? I'd think getting divorced would make you NOT want to drink, but I guess everyone is different.
I have been thinking about stopping drinking for a while, but I go in waves with it. My latest was when I stopped drinking for 90 days at the beginning of 2019, I never really felt any better, never saw all the incredible stuff people say that happens to them, and was entirely bored the entire time. Adding to that, I couldn't remember why I stopped, so I just started again.

Until 6 years ago, 3 drinks every night, sometimes 4. At that time, and for another year, it became 4 more often than 3. By "drink", I mean 1.5 ounces. That's a pretty good buzz, but hardly ever more than 4. Drunk happened about 3 times/year.
At that time I quit completely, stayed that way for 3 years. Now it is 2 drinks once or twice a week, been that way for 2 years.

But I drink I lot, I do. And I really don’t care. All indicators show that I am very healthy. I rarely get a hangover and I exercise daily so I think all of that combines.
I hate being alone or being alone and watching TV. My wife goes to bed early and we live close to bars. So she goes to bed and I walk down and have drinks, sometimes get straight hammers.
It just is what it is….but it’s mainly cause I am a nut bag and love to be around people.
