This is the highest they have ever been... sure, they have no chance to make it to Atlanta and play for the SECCG, but they have been playing good football.
I am excited for their success.... for once in a long time the Palmetto Bowl actually has national significance. Thank you Cooters for finally pulling your end of the bargain so this game can actually matter to anyone outside of the state of South Carolina.
Their first bowl victory EVER was in 1995 in the Carquest Bowl vs WVU when Brad Scott was their coach.
They did win the ACC in 1969.
And we can not forget they did win the SEC East in 2010.
Their trophy case is the size of my IM flag football trophy case from college.
So, they are understandably excited about coming to Death Valley on 30 NOV.
It's going to be a good game.... may the best team on that night win and hopefully, no one gets hurt.
The winner of that game might have a chance at an at-large bid to the CFP.

Best of luck to you cooter. You may win the game on 30 NOV, but never forget that you have a long, long way to go before you ever accomplish what Clemson has in college football.
A wise man once said, "Carolina is in Chapel Hill, and USC is in California. And THE University of South Carolina always has and always will be in Clemson". And that was after you guys beat us 3 times in a row en route to win 5 in a row (it didn't matter BTW)..... Great question by DHood back on 01 DEC 2011. Starts at 1:50 mark.

Our injured on the 2 deep have two more weeks to recuperate. I expect Clemson will be 95+% healthy by then.

I am excited for their success.... I want the Palmetto Bowl to be the most important game in the country. I would love to see a Clemson / Cooter game in my lifetime when we both are undefeated. Can you imagine ??
I think that would be awesome for the state to have the most important college football game of the year.

My reasoning? Show me any example of a gamecock fan wishing Clemson success or "hoping they're undefeated when we play them." I could give two ##### about what's good for this state. I want whats good for Clemson, and Clemson only.

"excited for their success" is the most offensive statement I've seen from a supposed Clemson "fan".
I've been called "coot" many times on this board b/c I'm a realist and talk truth...............this is the most egregious breaking of a Clemson rule than anything I've ever seen on this board.

You can call me what you want to call me. I've also noted that I am the only one on this thread along with Gumby that has donated money to Tigernet....
I am glad this will be a game vs. 2 top-15 teams. The better ranking our opponents have, the better it is for our SOS and for us.
I'll take my Tigers against any team, any day. May the best team on that day win. Spot the ball.

I'm just stating of all the things I've said and people have jumped on me for it ............this is way worse IMO.
sometimes the double standard on here is baffling to me.
shoot straight about our football team and get called a coot
excited for our rivals success and nothing?......

I have never agreed with Clemson and Cooter fans that would rather go 1-11 and beat the in-state rival than go 11-1 and lose to them.
If given that choice, I personally would take 11-1 all day, everyday.
That is logical, not emotional.
I want to beat the Cooters everytime we play them just like I do any team Clemson plays, but to be honest, this game means more to the fans.
I am not from SC.... I came to Clemson for school from the north. So maybe not growing up in SC I am missing the hatred... especially since college football is the only game in town with no professional sports in SC.
At the end of the game, the players and coaches shake hands and move on. For the most part, there is no ill will. Just athletes competing against each other.

the WORST stint of Clemson football that I've witnessed in my lifetime. I would've GLADLY sacrificed several of our "other wins" to get a win over them during that timeframe..........I don't care that we had 10 or so wins or not...........it meant NOTHING to me after losing to them..........I will ALWAYS remember 2012 for LOSING to South Carolina........not 4th & 16........beating LSU meant nothing to me compared to losing to south carolina.

We have played them 120 times....
We own the record 73-43-4...
We have had 2 7-win streaks (1934-1940 & 2014-2021 minus 2020 b/c Covid)
They had a 5 win streak during their best run of football ever which included an SEC East championship.
The Cooters can't even sniff our jockstraps when it comes to a football program.
They just don't matter.... and that is facts.
