Not the best players ever, not the most productive or the best in the nfl....
I want your top 5 personal favorite tigers and why....
5- Raymond Priester....
He will always hold a special place to me, I was 12 years old his breakout sophomore year...I was at my first tigers game and he rushed for like 125 to 130 yards and after that I was a huge fan...
4- D. Watson...
This kid despite whatever he has gotten into was the epitome of buying in...despite his 5 star status, he big name and incredible talents, he was focused, team first, wanted to win and truly pushed our program over the top...I loved as a Clemson Tiger D Watson
3-Ben Boulware....
My guy....he was the hardest working kid I ever saw...a kid that ran over a 5.0 in the 40 was still in on every play, he loved being a tiger, he made the program proud on and off the field
2- BIG C. WILKINS....h
His energy, his will to win...he pure ability...the way he always is the first former player coming to the defense of Dabo and our program when naysayers in the media try to slander, he is just a great guy, player and ambassador of the ALL IN CLEMSON TIGERS
1-Cj Spiller....
Everything about CJ from his entertainment value, to his loyalty to Clemson to his carrying us through a few rough years...just Everything about CJ is top notch....I'm happy as hell he is back on the sideline in orange
I Know some of you are older and may have different experiences and memories of the tiger players and have different favorite players...
I won't lie, despite being a 30 year tiger that has seen a lot of great players, I'm extremely biased towards the dabo era....it's just been so great and a great time to be a tiger...
There's no wrong selections, I just want to see you guys choices

5 Deandre McDaniel, knocked Brett Farve out of the FSU game
4 Duane Coleman, Bitchslapped a Tennesee player in front of an offcial and got away with it.
3 Chad Kelley, Once took an assault rifle into a strip club and shot the place up.
2 Grady Jarret. Despite Kevin Steel calling the wrong play every down, Jarrett never let it get him down and played his guts out by tackling the wrong player all afternoon.
1 Lannden Zanders, I am not sure yet, I know he is going to do something that stands out and makes him a part of Clemson lore.

5- Lester Brown, The Rubber Duck....
For sure not the most well known Clemson back, but he just had SOMETHING, you know? You could tell he was one of Jim Phillips favorites.
4- CJ Spiller....
Most elusive guy I EVER saw play live in person. That well known play against GT when he broke it down the sideline and left two GT defenders with their jocks down around their ankles was right in front of my seats, and I still couldn't believe what I saw.
3-Hunter Renfrow....
The most reliable clutch player I have ever seen. And the most unlikely looking dude to be a great football player. He proved you don't have to be ten feet tall and bulletproof to be Superman.
2-Deshaun Watson...
Torched Nick Saban's teams in National Championship finals, TWICE. He simply ran out of time in the first one, but put the Legendary Dagger through their heart the second time. The man just had an iron will to win.
1- Christian Wilkins....
Everyone should get as much joy out of their job as this man does playing football. I firmly believe he is the reason that ALL the Power Rangers came back in 2018 for that last, glorious National Championship ride. Him crying those sweet tears of joy on the sidelines, knowing he and his mates had accomplished everything they set out to do, is a Clemson memory to be cherished for all time.

Trevor Lawrence: “generational talent,” number one draft pick.
Ben Boulware: the suplex.
Dwight Clark: married Miss World. The Catch.
Charlie Waters: played many positions including QB, NFL and I worked with his brother.
Jimmy Howard: Coach Howard’s boy and that made him interesting.
Jack Veronee: football and baseball player. Coached me in high school.
Michael Dean Perry: Fridge’s brother. Better NFL player.

David Treadwell - Game winning kick vs UGA “Let the Big Dawg weep!” Nice pro career.
Terry Allen - Amazing runner from the moment he stepped on campus. Also a great pro.
William Perry - I mean, he had his own GI Joe action figure. I still remember THREE NC State lineman blocking him and it looked like children confronting a Grizzly Bear.
Deshaun Watson - The most transformational QB Clemson ever had. A competitor that was as tough as nails.
CJ Spiller - His runs vs Ga Tech were jaw dropping and ankle breaking.

Terry Allen - 1989 vs FSU.
Michael Dean Perry - Loved his first step and destruction of offenses.
Grady Jarrett - like Perry, destroyed offenses with his first step.
Donnell Woolford - played somewhat in the shadow of Deion Sanders, but was a total shutdown corner.
Hunter Renfrow - a walk-on who became a legend. Never dropped a pass, was nearly impossible to cover and took a beating at like 165 and always showed up.

Jeff Bostic - a member of the Washington Redskins (Hogs - the most notorious offensive line in NFL history) Jeff Bostic – “Bosco”
Center, # 53, 1980-1993
Super Bowl XVII, XXII, XXVI winner
An undrafted free agent out of Clemson, Bostic would play all 14 years of his NFL career with the Redskins.
Buddy Gore - seemed to beat the coots singlehanded by grinding out the needed yardage - led the ACC in rushing for 2 consecutive years and first Tiger to be named ACC player of the year as a junior
Charlie Waters - A member of the Dallas Cowboys Doomsday Defense - As a strong safety he became an All-Pro and along with Cliff Harris, formed one of the best safety tandems of that era. He was like a coach on the field, with excellent instincts and the athletic ability, to become one of the league’s top defensive players of the decade.[8] He was selected All-Pro twice (1977 and 1978) and to the Pro Bowl three consecutive seasons (1976-1978). Waters played 12 seasons in the NFL, never experienced a losing season and only missed the playoffs once (1974) during that span. He played in five Super Bowls: V, VI, X, XII, and XIII, with victories in VI and XII. He holds the NFL record for most playoff interceptions with 9, including 3 in one playoff game, and has the unique achievement of blocking 4 punts in 2 consecutive games. He also was team's holder for placekicks.

In no particular order ...
1. John Johnson - signing day flip from UGA from which they turned us in to the NCAA. Saw him that spring after signing walking in front of the stands at a Baseball game. Had on some gym shorts and a cut off shirt about rib cage high. Whoa. Toting about 6-7% bodyfat and looked to be about 6'4" and 225 with a shaved head. Looked like an anatomy chart. Already knew he ran a 4.45. Usually played "Bandit" or some type of stand up DE. Did not like contact but nobody turned the corner on him in 4 years of trying (or as Danny would say lose contain) and he brought them down with a Deion Sanders style tackle. Coach Hat referred to him as Johnnie. Athletic enough for the next level.
2. Chester McGlockton (RIP) - laziest player on the team. Did not follow coaches instructions. Exited the bus to come down the hill prior to one game and said damX - we're on TV today! Watch this, I'm gonna tear em up. And he did. Unblockable when the mood struck. Positioned a keg of beer so that he could drink directly from the tap without exiting his bed. Came in at 280 and left around 345 with a moderate waistline. Must have been doing something in the weight room or just a straight physical freak. Very intelligent and simply marched to his own beat.
3. CJ Spiller - best HS highlight film I have ever seen. Brought the moves and the juice as advertised. If he only had a line to open a hole the sky would have been the limit. Never took a solid hit during his tenure. Had that in common with Emmitt Smith. One of Clemson's most humble players given his hype and ability.
4. Keith Adams - well, 187 tackles in an 11 game season should say it all. Inch for inch, the greatest tackler of all time at Clemson (pound for pound you go with Anthony Simmons). Many tried but they all failed. No, he could not be blocked. Favorite comment heard throughout the Valley during his tenure was simply "Termite Again" before the PA opened his mouth.
5. Arthur Bussie - that's right. Came through the rough side of the NJ pipeline Danny was working in the 80's. Clawed his way out out of the ghetto in Camden NJ. Probably the most dangerous place in the US. SAT fluctuated a bit -leave it there. Told a fellow player he was from a tough area - pulled up his shirt to reveal 2 gunshot scars in the abdomen. Physical specimen. Probably the best built player in Clemson history. A tweener at roughly 6'3" and 245 with that 7% bodyfat. Looked like a Greek God. Saw him removed from a spring game for being too disruptive. Only saw that one other time which was Michael Dean. Never really found his way at Clemson. Was chased by the Campus Police for an unknown issue and was found hiding in an outside stairwell. Think he may have twisted his ankle when he jumped. Was released from the team for unknown issues. Always a lot of intrigue about Arthur. Would have likely done much better with all the "player development" folks that the kids now have access to. Found his way to the NFL for a cup of coffee but definitely did not fulfill his potential.
