Your a defensive coordinator having to figure out how to shut down Clemson offense ??

How would you defend Clemson against Clemson offense? Shut down the run and Clemson stretches the field throwing it. Defend against the pass Clemson runs it all day. See my point defensive coordinators will be crapping in there pants watching Clemson offense average 45 points a game. We have a unstoppable offense that not a single team on our schedule will be able to shut down all they can do it pick there poison. I expect to go 15-0 repeat National championships

1) Disguise defense with constant movements so the officials don't have an opportunity to count 15 defensive players on the field.
2) Clog up the middle of the field and the far sideline to drive plays toward the defense's sideline.
3) If the offensive player is able to turn upfield, coach trips him from the sideline or a player comes off the bench to make the tackle before he scores.
4) Give punt returner a needle to let air out of other team's ball before returning the ball to them.
5) When all else fails, fake an injury after each play to slow the game down.

Make them drive the length of the field with contained runs and short passes.
Hope for mistakes and/or penalties.
Hope you can score enough to make this work.
Pressure on the QB would also help, but not at the expense of giving up deep balls.

you have to be adaptable

what I saw a lot of people have success on last year was confusing our oline with disguised blitzes and stunts from the dlinemen. they would have early success with this, and when we corrected our mistakes and took that away, we crushed them. Coordinators couldn't seem to change up their gameplan against us. probably because they put all of their eggs into that one basket, and when that failed they didn't know what to do.

Their best bet is lots of stunts, disguised blitzes, misdirection, and try to force a lot of turnovers. The best recipee is aggressive, 0 man coverage, but I doubt anyone will be brave enough to do it.

Hope you don’t mind hearing from an objective Georgia fan ...
I believe that the key to your offense is the position your defense puts them in ...
The nail in the proverbial coffin it is then in the hands of probably the best quarterback of the decade and the balanced attack that he leads ... so well.

Maybe - the upcoming two seasons will be the acid test. If he continues to improve at the rate he did last year then you just may be right.

Injure Clemson's starting quarterback. That's what dino babers and nick saban (Clemson's last two losses) try to do. But by trying that tactic, saban made dw4 a legend and babers turned Brice into a folk hero. I dont agree with it but you cant deny it, esp Babers. F that guy. If it happens again this year I say we get him.

Well it depends on my defense personnel but im probably playing a 3rd safety the whole game with him walked up in the box. Not really pressing because I don't want to give up the big play and making The team march down the field without the big chunk plays. Will definitely give up some points, but could potentially keep the score around 24 and Pray my offense is having a good day.

Go with the percentages. We're predictable on whether it's a run or pass.

The problem is stopping it but...We run on 1st down inside the 40 about every time. Stack the box and hope we never get around mid field. If it's 2nd and 4 or less we always pass unless inside the 20. Zone Blitz or drop 8. These are where alot of our big plays come. 3rd down is the hardest bc we can do anything, but watch the o-line stance if it's 3rd and more than two. 2-point stance= pass or draw. 3-pt is run unless we're inside the 25, then it's an rpo.

No.1 is the defense must prevent ETN from gashing them repeatedly. Otherwise, they are done.
No.2 is prevent (limit) over the top plays to Ross and Higgins.
In other words, try to make TL throw short passes and hope he makes mistakes.
One way to put it: Don't give up home runs. If you lose giving up walks and singles, so be it.
