You use the portal like Alabama, Georgia, Texas, etc. etc.
Never use it like Florida State. Ever.
But to not use it at all is putting yourself at a disadvantage. Those above schools have found the right formula. Vast majority is elite high school talent and fill in the gaps with talented portal.
You will always have gaps now. Culture does not prevent that

Building nearly an entire starting roster out of the portal is not a good idea
Utilizing the portal to fill roster gaps here and there is a good idea

FSU's players opted out of the bowl game because they got screwed out of the playoffs. Most of them are going pro. I still believe in the portal and yes I want Clemson to use it.

Stop acting like FSU missing their star QB and having a ton of opt outs getting killed invalidates our need to use the portal.
