Of Clemson fans who are CFB fans first, Clemson fans, second.
And he’s not wrong. The “faithful” on this board aren't “Clemson first”, they’re “Clemson-only”…..the old-age-homers, constantly bringing up how long they’ve been fans, as if that holds any water.
My father didn’t attend Clemson….but he put multiple kids through that University with his hard-earned money. To hear the Karen’s and 65-year-old Chad’s attempt to call anyone “bandwagon fans who didn’t attend CU” is a joke, at best. My dad loved Clemson more than the alma-mater that he played football for. Most of the CU grads I know have absolutely ZERO to do with the games or IPTAY….and they/I live in the upstate.
What most of you PRTM-degree-holder, Dabo-slobbers (and Dabo) can hold is common is that your arrogance is astounding and criticism is taken with an emotional toll.
Pate recognizes this as well but has to keep it “professional”……watching a coach, who’s had tremendous success, hire a load of feckless former-players, to coach, has already caught up with Clemson. Watching the same coach get out-coached by others who are “hungry” to win, when we CLEARLY are not (pointing at both coaches and players) is on full display as well.
Said it before, saying it again. CDS has about one more season to bury his arrogance and hire a staff that can produce results that equate to the fan expectations and the hundreds of millions they’ve donated to the program.

And deservedly so. The administration and school have made so much money off of Dabo, they will never move on from him no matter what. He has doubled the school's student body since taking over from 12k to over 24k and growing. His 11 million dollar salary is nothing compared to what he is making the university. He doesn't have to change his staff of NIL. I believe he will make changes, but he certainly doesn't have to "bury his arrogance" to remain the head coach.

Dabo had nothing to do with doubling the student body. And doing so was a terrible thing for the school.

Just like at Bama, UGA, and every other successful football school. Kids want to go to football powers, if you don’t know the economics behind the growth, which is pretty common place knowledge …. I can’t help you. It’s not hard to understand.

So you think all the success in football and 2 national championships had nothing to do with boom that is Clemson University? 64,000 applicants for 4800 freshmen spots. 90% of that has come from the exposure that football success has brought.

So 8-4 seasons are ok now? Wow I never thought a true Clemson fan would ever put a man above our university. Yes he makes money for Clemson and has won 2 titles. College Football is now a billion dollar business and the rules of the game have been changed forever. If the Tigers do not return to the playoffs and advance trust this.. Dabo will not be there as long as ge wants. Money keeps him and a decline in that money will send him away. I for one could care less who coaches the Tigers as long as they win. Probably not popular here in Daboland, but use everything legal and some that's not just win!!

Dabo's doing a great job and keeping it positive for all. Some of y'all kinda full of yourselves when you see a couple of losses and equate it to program failure. It is not. Program is fine thank you. Go Tigers!!!!

And 15-5 in their last 20 games, or 26-8 in their last 34 games. Stats can be misleading if not applied correctly in context. That also includes wins over North Carolina who's undefeated.

Let’s not leave out that UNC admitted not having prepped for any other QB than DJU in that loss…..or that Drake Maye was a freshman when Clemson played him.

Who the #### cares if they didn't prepare for Cade. They knew DJU had struggled and that they needed to be ready for Cade to come in if it continued. Chizik hasn't been able to field a defense in over a decade and Mack could never coach to begin with, he was just a great recruiter. That's cute, Drake Maye was a freshman????? So was Cade. What's your point?

Perhaps it’s the fact that Drake was the starter and we hours of film on him. They had little to none on Cade and prepped accordingly. So, unless we have a magical QB we can pull out of our ### every game, that no one’s really seen in action, we have a problem. Mack Brown also won a natty at Texas….so your point is moot is more ways than one.

You think Mack winning 1 Natty at Texas makes the point moot? Mack had 1 Natty and a whopping 2 conference championships with all that talent he pulled in, in 16 seasons. That's not top notch coaching. In fact, that's all Mack has won in his entire career, but feel free to tell me how wonderful he is as a coach. You're telling me you'd be content with 2 conference titles and one Natty under Dabo in that same time span? Your posts would suggest not.
There you go, talking out of both sides of your mouth. So, Goodwin doesn't get credit for shutting down Maye because he had hours of film on him, and the UNC coaches aren't at fault because they had no film on Cade and didn't prepare for him? Just making sure I've got the angle correct on that one. Let's just overlook the fact that UNC's defense didn't appear to prepare for any QB's last season.
Are you expecting Dabo to come out and blast his coaches midseason? That's not going to happen and has never been the way he operates. Hell, he praised Streeter up to the point that he fired him last year, and he'll do the same this year with guys like Austin, Grisham, Spiller, and Richardson. Doesn't mean change aren't coming, but he's not going to tip his hand before that.
Nobody is happy with 4-2, but it is what it is and we've got to play with who we've got and Riley will need to figure out who his horses are and start building around that. I think we all expected a much smoother transition than this, but there's growing pains, and as much as I like Pate, he's very hit or miss. He claimed all up to the FSU game that it was going to be a referendum on using the portal or not. That was not the case in the slightest as the portal is not why we lost that game (but rather bad coaching in terms of teaching a 3rd year back how to pass block).

Nope. But never expected him to go after fans for calling out clear failures in development and hires - and complaining about Covid-scholarships while offering nepotistic scholarships to nobodies….and then go after fans.

You're only as good as your last performance. In business we use it as only as good as your last shipment. That mentality drives a perfectionist pursuit daily. Resting on past achievements will put a business in bankruptcy and a coach in a new city!!

Mario Crystobal came into Miami and hired several high profile assistants, with both college and NFL experience, and has recruited well. His record right now at Miami is 9-9.
So, whether it is promoting from within or going outside, his record does not reflect that his way was the right one. We are coming off an ACC championship year and an Orange Bowl birth so the sky is definitely not falling. We have an offense in transition and that has been challenging in our losses. I'm excited to see how we finish and even more excited to see this team next year, with another year of experience under their belts, and a lot of new talent coming in that should help.
I've been critical myself in several areas but I have not given up on Dabo or this team. I still think the future has a lot to look forward to.
