Any news on the CBB contract situation?

The only thing that has me a little concerned is the shoving incident with Girard. I didn't think it was a big deal at the time, but having an Elite 8 level coach not get an extension has me wondering if this situation might still be festering. I assume the shove by itself was not a big deal, but coupled with the O'Neil McBride accusations, well the AD has to make sure this behavior is nipped in the bud. I'm guessing we'll hear about a contract extension as soon as an anger management program is completed, or something similar. I know CBB and Neff will be glad to have these multiple incidents behind them, just like me.

It seemed pretty clear to me that when we signed Boston College's best player from the portal that Earl Grant is going to be the next basketball coach at CU. Each day that passes without a new contract for CBB makes this even more evident. I am very excited to see what CEG can do at Clemson.

finishing this highly touted season 4-4 overall didn't quite light Neff's fire, especially with that first round ACC blowout to lowly BC. Also having a Final Four team, as Brad had maintained all year with his squad, coming up short of that could be more cause for trepidation.
Brad's player abuse probably factors in some, along with the potty mouth antics in front of the students and children. For a program with our lack of historic and recent success though, the NCAAT success from this past season is at least enough to ride the current contract out and not seek a different direction. I guess time will tell.

By all accounts, his players love him. The last three wins were in the dance which has only been done one other time in our history. If you want to effectively troll, you will need to step up your game as this one was mid at best.

when they are in front of a microphone…usually with Brad sitting right next to them staring them down!
How do you not realize they are doing this out of fear? You can tell they don’t believe the words they are saying.
You should hear the players talk casually when the guy is not sitting right there.

If the love for Brad was so pure why did Clark, Godfrey, and Beadle hit the transfer portal? Players for EVERY head coach in America profess their coach love because they know criticizing their coach would not be a good for their future. Actions speak louder than words.

This is just an idiotic response. No player on the team has ever accused Brad of abuse. Joe Girard raves about him and he's the one they say he abused. All his players and former players have nothing but great things to say. This was the best season in modern ccoensin basketball history. Extend the man

Cursing at a player is not abuse. If it were a real case of player abuse he would have been fired. Clemson absolutely investigated and determined it to be nothing especially considering the fact that all practices are filmed

I saw nothing last night to indicate that there was any kind of issue involving coach Brownell and the AD. Both were at the Clemson meeting in Charlotte and it was a huge success. As a loyal fan it’s very easy to attend events like this and show your support rather than sit at home and complain about things you know NOTHING about.
Just think …. For 35 dollars you can actually support our team and Coaches!

Pretty sure this is sarcasm. That being said there’s nothing wrong with that “shove” imo. I’ve met Brownell. He’s a class act and his players love him. Maybe you missed Girards glowing review of Clemson and Brad in the post game presser.

but I was busy doing my PT and watching a show about corrupt baseball umps.
I texted him back this morning, and told him to get the lifetime contract printed out.
I recommended $20 mil per year, on an escalating contract to eventually $30 mil. He gets to keep $2.7 mil per year, and the remainder will go to buying players from the portal.
Did I do good?

I know you’re getting nervous. He’s obviously overplaying his hand or we’d have heard something by now. All the mid-major and up landing spots have been filled. Perhaps Neff realizes how little his loyalty has been rewarded by the strong arm tactics and is just gonna let the contract ride. The longer it takes, the less likely you are to see a major extension. Brownell has no leverage with no openings for him to threaten to run to. Glad to see Neff is a better negotiator than Radakovich.

He shoved a player on the court, during play. He has had allegations of verbal abuse by a former player's family. He has used profane language, multiple times, on national TV. But me saying I'm am ready to put all this behind us is the bad look? That's insulting.
