Trumps Easter Message

I’m not sure what board this should be. I don’t think politics, certainly not religion, maybe the dementia board.

"Happy Easter to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheming so hard to bring Murderers, Drug Lords, Dangerous Prisoners, the Mentally Insane, and well-known MS-13 Gang Members and Wife Beaters, back into our Country,"

"Happy Easter also to the WEAK and INEFFECTIVE Judges and Law Enforcement Officials who are allowing this sinister attack on our Nation to continue, an attack so violent that it will never be forgotten!"

Donald Trump

Happy Easter, I guess. Jesus probably loves this message.

Trump probably thinks Jesus was a pu$$y who wasted his power and was a sucker for dying for others. That Jesus should have been rich and dominated the planet with his powers, if he were only real of course.

Specifically telling them Happy Easter.

Especially the shoutout to the weak and ineffective police officers. That's very bipartisan!

Trump is just as mentally gone but his staff is filled with equally mentally unstable and dangerously incompetent lackies whose only "vision" for the country is turning it back to the 19th Century.

We have 4 years of this chaos to look forward to...

will not change no matter what, but I think it will be interesting to see what happens over the next...however long he stays in office. His continued mockery of things that many of them hold dear surely MUST chip away at some of them. And make no mistake, this is a mockery (intentional or not) of Christianity. To use this holiday as an opportunity to attack his political opposition is so beneath both the Holiday and the office, it is just hard to believe it doesn't continue to erode the grip he has on the Republican Party. There will always be those who will supporter him no matter what (that's true for any leader, I suppose), but if we can get that number down to something manageable, a primary against a JD Vance could produce a more reasonable candidate. Or, failing that, if the Democrats can successfully run a competent non-leftist, we can rid ourselves of this and start to rebuild some credibility in the world. Though I suspect that will take some time.

I don’t think his legions care, as they aren’t Christians. Trump certainly isn’t. Cruelty is their currency and empathy is a sin, they’ve substituted their politics for faith.

This article from November shows that 80% of "white evangelicals" support Trump.

It is up to Republicans to field a sensible candidate against Trump/Vance or the Democrats to jettison it's most leftist platforms (80 genders, pronouns, gender surgeries for kids, calling Israel genocidal, abortion up to full term...this is a admittedly a broad brush but it's the kind of rhetoric that will turn this voter away) to be palatable to a portion of those voters.

Also, here' s an interesting graph...

What I find interesting is that Trump had tremendous support among white evangelicals, who I would assume (but please anyone correct me if I'm wrong) would be considered the more fervent Christians who would support government influence of religion in America. But for nonevangelical protestants, his support is about 50/50 for those who regularly attend church. I would consider those the people who have a strong faith also but aren't as keen in seeing the lines of church and state blurred. Then the nonevangelicals that DON'T regularly attend church jumps up to 60% support. My take on that is that this category includes a portion of people who are Christians more as a social, cultural group than as a faith.

Again, this is a very broad brush and I can clearly see my own biases in this hot take, but I found it interesting the way the support went from very high, to 50/50, and back up on what I would consider a continuum of fervent Christianity. And that's just what this is: A hot take. Counterarguments welcome.
