True story

My only hole in one ever…was actually a par. Playing university course in Athens, an AJGA tournament no less, on number 8, downhill par 3. I smoothed a high 7 iron that looked like it was gonna be great. As it descends, it’s right on the flag stick….CLANK!!! hits the top of the flag, ricocheted off to the right and down a bank into heavy rough. Couldn’t find it in the allotted time, went back to the tee to hit my third.

Smoothed another 7, I swear it looked like the same shot. This one landed about 3 feet short of the hole, bounced once, and backed up into the cup. Picked the ball outta the cup, was about to walk off the green, then thought to look at the top of the pin. Sure enough, that little plastic cap was smashed in with a little bit of metal showing through. Angriest yet best par I ever made.
