Lawrence won the natty his freshman year…… Deshaun threw 67% his freshman, sophomore, and junior year. As a true freshman Watson threw 27-36 71% against a ranked North Carolina for 435 yards 6TD’s and 1 int. Came in 1 drive vs UGA first game as an 18year old and lead the team down the field for a score at Sanford stadium 2-4 45 yards and for some reason they put soudt back in. As a (SOPHOMORE which is what DJ is) Watson only lost in the natty, 35TD’s 12 rushing with a 156qbr. Trevor was 65% completion percentage first two years with a 157qbr and 162 his sophomore season. DJ as a sophomore has thrown 2 interceptions and 1 TD. He has a 101qbr and a 51% completion percentage despite taking more sacks than any an to this point and not throwing it away when need be. Don’t give me this crap about comparing players to the end of their careers. He may be good but he is not equivalent to dw4 or TLaw on any aspect. He a lot more like Kelly Bryant with cole stoudts running ability.

The beginning of Lawrence’s sophomore season was lackluster. First 6 games he had 14 TD’s and 8 INT’s. By the end of the first 3 games, it was 5 TD’s to 5 INT’s. After the sixth game, Lawrence threw 22 TD’s to 0 INT’s. Everybody forgets Watson & Lawrence made poor decisions and plays in their first seasons as starters.
He’ll settle in. Just takes time.

DW and TL in the first bit of their Soph seasons, looked as if they'd regressed. They both looked like the were NFL ready their Fr season. But both underwhelmed before hitting their groove. DJ looked incredible as a true freshman last year in 2 starts and mop up duty. Just like the two legends before him, his sophomore season has not gotten off to the greatest start.
It amazes me that anyone would snap to judgement and say "DJ is a bust", "DJ lost a game and TL never lost as the starter in the regular season". Trolls, morons and tards are the only people rushing to attach that stupidity to DJ's name.

The only people who think DJ is a bust are the same delusional people who actually believed that his win over BC and big numbers in a loss to ND meant he was goign to light up UGA.

Other than destroying our Oline putting pressure on him and making it so we were one dementional because we also couldn't run the ball. Other than that they did nothing to stop him.

Link to where anyone has called DJ a bust?

All I've seen here is concern that his mechanics, decision making, and general performance are not nearly what they were last year. None of that is untrue.
I think we all hope that he can shake off whatever is going on and return to the form he displayed last year. If he can't, we are going to struggle.

I think that was, in part, the coaching keeping things a bit simpler for DJ. It took him a while to settle in both BC and ND.
The issue is that the coaching staff are asking DJ to read to much to fast. He/staff are expecting year 3 level performance. I think DJ will get there but it seems like being a 1/2 step off the pace is hurting and that "calming down" is resulting in lazy mechanics and that is giving him something else to think about. Thus he is thinking about running to the mountain top and missing the first step. The issues with snaps is the easiest marker here.
Now, good coaching should make short work of these issues. If it lingers, well....

As a freshman, DJ had a 159 QB rating in his first ever start and a 164 in his second start against playoff bound Notre Dame and on the road. Get real, dude. Yep, DJ struggled in his first start as a sophomore, but the season's not exactly over with yet so you have no basis for comparison of a sophomore year just yet. Get real. You have no point.

A REAL QB coach and OC would have him on the right track prior to game one. But unfortunately we don’t possess either. Goo Tigers beat the Jackets!! ??????

Since he has been the starter since last fall, ain't it about time he feels comfortable. Geez.
