Hopefully, the Dims can get all their political opponents thrown off the ballot, if not thrown in jail, to, you know, “protect” our sacred democracy.

Ahhh yes! A Hallmark of western democracy amirite? It's ashame the very things we as Americans used to look at as being one of the truest indicators that another country was being run by fascists and dictators is the very thing we are engaged in today in our very own country
And for any of those that would say "all laws are sacred and every person must be held accountable", get back to me when you have mugshots of Hilary, George Bush, Obama , multiple congressman, every person in govt. Who has allowed an invasion of our southern border, etc etc....then I will begin to take you and govt seriously again. Until then you are nothing but hypocrites and should be treated like the clowns you are

There's already a kill switch in the newer autos. It's called Idle-Stop & Go. The "feature" causes the engine to cut off when the brake is depressed for a red light, stop sign and traffic, etc. Engine starts when brake is released, although not always according to complaints I read. KIA has recalled many of their models for the following:
"The transmission electric oil pump for the Idle Stop & Go System in the subject vehicles may have been assembled with printed circuit boards that were damaged during manufacturing," recall documents from the NHTSA read. "A damaged capacitor on the pump controller PCB could impact electrical operation leading to heat damage to the electric oil pump circuit board, connector, and wiring harness."
In producing a fuel-saving engine stop-start, it seems one of Hyundai's and Kia's suppliers made an electrical mistake, one that will likely cost the brands a pretty penny. But current owners of these vehicles shouldn't panic just yet, as the NHTSA estimates only about 1% of affected models will actually suffer from heat-damaged electronics.
According to the dealer, KIA initially decided to just inspect the pump, but recently decided on replacement. Had to have the recall repaired on my 2023 KIA Seltos which was leased in May. Thankfully there's a disengage button to bypass the function which is worthless. Just more crap to install on vehicles which will eventually break down.
