Does anyone else think we should pursue Stoops?

He has experience working with Venables, and we could do one of those co defensive coordinator things like we do on offense. We would be pretty much impossible to score on if we went this direction. I hope the coaches are aware that Stoops is available and consider this hire.

Does this poster not realize that Stoop's initial return to Oklahoma was among the few imporrtant reasons why CBV left to come to Clemson? Coach Venables would consider it an insult of sorts if Dabo even entertained the idea. Venables might offer Stoops a lesser position if one were available, but otherwise I don't see anything like the suggestion happening.

Yeah, we should hire him for the offense, because he’s good at letting teams score points.

Nope, that ship has sailed. We missed our chance to trade BV for him while Stupor was still there.

If he can't play 3rd string safety better than our other walk-ons, I see no reason to 'pursue ' him.

Perhaps the coots are going after him. They don't have any defensive minded people on staff.

NO. Would be a monumental bad call to do so. Coach V left Oklahoma a "co-defensive coordinator" and would likely not want to do that song and dance again. Especially at a place where he has cemented his name as one of the best(by himself and his staff)!

I may be the only one on here that thinks Stoops would be a great hire. We've learned this season the importance of having capable backups ready at a moment's notice, and with his experience working with Coach V he could be the backup to the Get Back coach. I saw Coach V take a swing at him last year, so having a capable backup is a good idea.
