Yesterday's GT victory vs. FSU was good for a number of reasons

1) It proves (categorically) that the so-called experts like Heather Dimwit don't know what the hayll they're talking about. FSU is a pretender, not a contender.
2) DJU was not and is still not a championship-caliber QB. Sorry people, that's the cold hard truth.
3) The formula to beat FSU is simple: stack the box and force DJU to beat you over the top. And he can't. And they don't have the receivers to do it.
4) The look on Norvell's face when GT kicked the winning field goal was chef's kiss perfection. I think I want to frame that and hang it in my office.

Agree Norvell had his great season last year. And still it ended in a most embarrassing fashion. CFB is a VERY humbling sport for coaches and players alike.
And you can add the collective dufus braintrust on college gameday to the no nothing idiots.

And esPn talking heads are paid millions to beef up the (false) hype and along the way to purposefully down the non-sec school Clemson Tigers for many reasons but primarily b/c we (use) to cause their biggest teams trouble with unexpected losses in big showdowns.
Hope Dabo can duplicate that again!

FSU will have zero margin for error, which now means the pressure on them for the season just ramped up to "incendiary". They now have to play a Labor Day (non-typical) game against a team that almost upset them last year, plus they got back to back big games at the turn of Sept/Oct (travel to SMU for an already sold out game, then have to turn around & host us). Then have Miami in the month of October too. I just don't see the Noles getting thru to November unscathed.
Meanwhile, long as Clemson enters Tallahassee unblemished in ACC (meaning we protect home field over NC State), when we enter that game with more margin for error for ACC/CFP hopes.

FSU will be hard-pressed to do better than 8-3 down the stretch with DJ at the helm

They're only other QB's on their roster are a RS Freshman and a True Freshman. By the end of the season one of those guys will be getting snaps to start learning for next year... Meanwhile FSU will be scouting another QB from the transfer portal.

But it was not so good because a top 10 ACC team got beat, which means FSU will probably drop eight or nine slots. Also, SMU, a new ACC team, was decidedly underwhelming against a bad Nevada team, fortunate to win last night. It's easy to see why the ACC is thought of so lightly. A bunch of light weight teams. Let's hope the Tigers go snarling into Atlanta and whoop Jawja's ###.

Doesn’t matter. Win the ACC and you get a first round bye. We dont need any help from anyone else.

Conference Champion from ACC is guaranteed a CFP spot. So, the days of needing your conference to give you quality wins if you were to slip up are over.
ACC does not need any Top 10 teams to offer quality wins for us.

Good points.
I also expected a Seminole defense to stop the run better. I wonder how Mafah will do against them. I wish we played them sooner than Oct 5.

This game gives FSU a solid claim on an unique stat.
They are the first team ever to be #17 in the ACC standings.

That loss has to hurt bad. But some good things for FSU. They had an early loss. Always better to have one early. It was a close loss. It might end up being an “okay” to possibly a “good” loss. Depends on how GT performs the rest of the year. I can remember the Buckeyes loss to VT in the 2nd week of the 2014 season. The next day there was an article that said the B1G was already eliminated from playoff contention because other big name B1G schools lost also. The Buckeyes slowly improved and won it all. With a 3rd string qb. Who knows? Maybe FSU can do the same. Sometimes a loss can be a good thing.

FSU left a crack in the door for Clemson to slide by for the crown.
It's a shot in the arm for our team. Just need to capitalize on that.

5. It increases our odds to make the playoffs. The fact that we could lose to Georgia, App State, the Citadel, and the dirty gamecocks and STILL be a top 4 seed in the playoffs with the auto bid is a drastic change this year.
It’s all about the ACC for us and FSU losing yesterday just gives us slightly more wiggle room as we set our sights on Charlotte.

There will be some fluke year where an absolutely terrible team falls #### backwards into a conference title and wastes a playoff spot. Twelve was too many by a lot anyway, just going to be some really bad post season games on the horizon.
