Yesterday's games

Dec 29, 2022, 8:42 AM

Football detractors on TNet keep talking about how football, especially the bowls are ruined and that is hog wash. The games yesterday between Carolina-Oregon and Kansas-Arkansas were as good as they get and just showed why Bowl games do matter to the kids on the teams. Between now and next Tuesday there should be many more really good game. Enjoy and Happy New Year.

You have good games between teams that are not at the quality that they normally would be. Opt outs outside of Clemson have a major impact on a lot of these games. It just depends on if you want to watch nearly all college football games or are you just interested in the best football. It is what it is.

The later you get into bowl season, the more the opt outs will affect the games because there will be more potential NFL talent. It is not overly important to me since I am more of a person that watches Clemson and a few select games that I have an interest in and much of that has to do with how the schedule falls. I will rearrange things for Clemson, but not for any of the other games. I'm glad that you are enjoying the bowl season. Have a Happy New Year.

Well, even though the majority of the games thus far have been subpar (excluding last eve) - in less than two weeks, the CFB season will be over. In 3-4 months, even a subpar game would be welcomed. When the NFL wraps up in February - it’s back to the sports closet until September. Basketball and baseball in the interim but .. football, by far, is the best, or at least my favorite. Appreciating the final ride for the season at this point.

Go Tigers, finish !!!

I hadn't thought of this before but a 12 game playoff

The really sad part is the astronomical number of NFL prospects that will leave the playoff games permanently maimed/injured! That’s the reason for opting out now right?

The 12 team playoff will make all of the bowls even more irrelevant - therefor more opt-outs (except for the top 12)

Seems like a lot of the bowls are just for TV. Hardly any fans in the stands.
