According to these figures. We are ranked #10, so we can compete.

Estimates only. In any case, I think all the money that was previously “dark” is now just light. Maybe a bit more but the ratio and breakdown is about the same I would bet. Clemson will not positively differentiate itself from Texas or OSU in the quantity of NIL payout. We never have nor ever will outbid those teams for talent, under or over the table. Once it is fully in place across the board and common to all, we will have to standout the same way we were able to in the 2010s.

I just know Clemson has never been the richest or largest school yet we have always found ways to compete. This NIL is another venue for us to do that and I am confident we will.

I saw the “dark money” first hand in the 80’s. Michael Carr driving around in a new corvette thanks to an over zealous booster. Needless to say his family couldn’t afford a Chevette second hand.

Hold up just a minute now, The last year of the Chevy Chevette I think was 1979, and the average retail price for that throw away junk was around $4,000 brand new...
The best thing about the Chevy Chevette was the price, it was cheap enough so that at about 80-90 thousand miles they were ready for the junk yard, and you didn't have to worry about finding anybody that would buy a second hand Chevette, it was truly a throw away car...

Why do people keep wasting their time with these finger in the air estimates?

Opendorse estimated the total NIL market and then these guys allocate that total based on each schools booster fund and ticket sales. So if clemson makes up 1% of fan driven normal revenue we get allocated 1% of the total NIL market. It's a garbage "analysis" based on unproven assumptions and no actual hard NIL data.

It's called spurtlecoin. With a small investment of $10K you can be one of the first links in the block chain.

If it all is the actual truth, then there is no excuse for our FB program not to use the portal. And if true, what is Dabo trying to prove with him being so adamant about ignoring the portal?

$$$, as I've said many times on here, is not the issue. YET....many will keep saying it either due to ignorance or they don't want to admit the truth.
We could dominate if we so chose...........

Can you clarify? Are you saying we have enough money to dominate CFB in its new form if we so chose but are choosing not to?
My thinking is we can competitively pay 5-star recruits or we can competitively pay to retain proven team players, but not both.

YES. We can be competitive. We didn't lose Sanders b/c we couldn't afford it. We just didn't want to guarantee that amount up front. Look, I get it and love CDS's ideal...but its a belief that won't fit into today's REALITY. Generally, when you have beliefs that don't match reality, you are going to have to change your beliefs to get the results you want.

O-Line. With blocking and the ability to create holes and pass block, Cade, the WR's and Mafah (2024) will blossom in 2024 and 2025.

I saw Sanders has us out of his top-4 for his 8/17 announcement. That sux.
Regarding NIL money...is it a "we ain't go it" situation, or a "we ain't willing to spend it" situation?
I honestly don't know. The latter would make me think we have certain standards in place that keep us from bending over financially to a 17 year-old without a proven record, and/or get into competitive bidding for said recruits.
I think Clemson has enough pull on it's own (for the right recruits) that we shouldn't need NIL to be the draw, but rather a cherry on top.

I posted a link probably 2 months ago that had Clemson at #7 in NIL money.
When I get time; i'll repost it.
Either way, based on the link provided and what I have read in the past - you are exactly right. Clemson is "in the game when it comes to NIL"!
But, just because you have dollars, doesn't mean the recruit will choose you!
It's asking a girl to the prom as I heard it said: "she still has to say yes, even if you have the nice car, have a pocket full of money, cut your hair, shined your shoes, she still has to say yes"! I.E. - sometimes it comes down to other factors!
So many people can't let go of the idea that everyone's bottom line is solely based on $$$$$$$$.
Many people, yes! All people, NO!
