Moral victories mean nothing. Bakich over coached the pitching staff this weekend.
And they lost to teams they should have easily defeated.

He’s absolutely correct - we hosted because we won 45 - this team should have never won 45 - luck, will, coaching in games took us from what should have been a 30-35 win team to 45. We were not a top 16 team - 25 -30 border team at best. But his job also includes having better players. Honestly - you take Cam off this team and we aren’t in th NCAAT and in the midst of a season like the coots more than likely. We have a 2 starting on Fridays that overachieved and our other weekend starters would be midweek for the legit teams.

The mark of a good coach is getting the most out of his players. These stats suggest that Bakich did that this year.
If we want to have a discussion about getting better talent in recruiting, I think that’s fair. Perhaps there are things the staff can do better in that regard. Perhaps the administration can do some different things to support the program better as well.
I like Bakich. I think he is a good coach. The season did not end well, but neither did basketball or football so we need to remember that winning is hard and we will get better.

Totally agree with him. They played over their heads almost the whole season and EB deserves the credit for that. They had to because our talent level was not where it should be and that’s on EB as well. We know he can motivate, now he’s got to build a better roster.

Yes it is on him to build a roster. You can't help injuries. Losing Moehler hurt. He's supposed to be a true Friday guy. Bell may be a weekend starter by next year... and understand it's unfortunate he was hurt, but he did start in May. He has good stuff but the impression that was given didn't match the results.
EB knew the holes that needed to be filled due to the departures we had. The transfers he brought in produced the same or worst results you expect from true freshman 🤔 - so did the staff miss on the evals? Or did all of them just happen to have an off year?

The transfers he brought in were not great outside of Dom, who was the least thought of.

Couldn’t have said it better! It’s almost like he’s saying he coached them to that record despite the poor talent…. I actually like a lot of how he runs the team, but the coach is responsible for the TALENT, the record, and the playoff performance at the end of the year!! Brag on your seniors, I get it, but I don’t like the attitude after an #### kicking like that!! Average talent for sure this year, but EB best fix that quickly and it won’t be an easy task…

Heart and desire can help teams play over their talent level, but can only take you so far. Just like extremely talented teams that lack heart and desire. It is very hard to put a team together that has very high levels of both. We saw it with our football teams from 2015-2019 and some Clemson fans now think it is easy to do and should happen all the time.

I don't know if they underachieved or overachieved but whatever it was they got smoked in both "championship" games they played so other than Cam I'm not sure anyone was ready to play. It's a shame they will be remembered by errors and hit batters.
Well tee it up folks....moving on.
