Were you happy when Dabo hired Venables?

I remember being unhappy, but that turned out to be a home run hire. Allen wasn’t my first choice, but gonna trust Dabo knows more about football than I do. Bottom line, it’s an upgrade from Wes!

just thinking it was an average hire. Guess that might be why Dabo didn't ask opinion this time.

Oh, there were complaints for sure.
He’s getting run out of OK. The D success was all Stoops. They don’t have defense in the big 12. Blah blah blah.
No one knows for sure how this will work out, not even Dabo. See Wes as an example. Dabo has a prove track record though for success which is good enough for me.

Comparing Oklahoma BV and Allen to this point is apples/oranges

BV had many many years running successful defenses. Allen has had 1.

Pretty happy IIRC
I didnt think he'd be the greatest DC in the last decade but I knew he was going to kick someone's ### and we'd be pretty stout on D. He had that look of either wanting to fight guys or take their helmet and jersey and go play for them.

BV couldn’t do anything to stop that mid LSU offense in the natty. And again when he couldn’t stop Justin Fields who is so bad he can’t even beat out a 45-yr old Russell Wilson for the job. And what has he done in Oklahoma? Nothing!
